Two crucial by-elections affecting the ANC and DA in the Western Cape and Northern Cape could lead to a critical shift in control in two politically volatile municipalities.

The DA did badly in the rural WC in the local elections, but not too concerning in provincial or national elections as none of those mickey mouse parties will be on the ballot.
They did get sucker-punched a bit in rural WC, I can attest. The Western and Southern parts of the province managed to stay completely DA or under DA coalition.
But here in the interior areas of the province (Witzenberg, Oudtshoorn, Beaufort, Calitzdorp, etc.), ANC managed to hold their ground (sadly) and is in control of them via coalition.
I don't think ICOSA contests general elections, I also don't see GOOD or EFF winning a landslide victory in WC anytime soon in a general election either...?
