One must however differentiate between tribalism and identity politics. The former is an actual identity, the latter synthesizes a new identity to replace a real one.

Apartheid was tribalism not identity politics... though to a degree yes there was also identity politics involved with an attempt to merge tribes here and there into new identities with uncertain levels of success still to this day.

There was more success merging the various Afrikaner tribes than there was merging the English with the Afrikaner for example.
It's the same thing.

It doesn't matter how you define your victim group only that you do.

So you are of the opinion that the germans should stop being german, the zulu should stop being zulu and the japanese should stop being japanese? Because that is where your logic ends up.

All or nothing, total condemnation or total approval..... it's religious virtue signalling.
Nope...another over-reach. Leave religion out of this. It's simply human respect and moral code. Support the past and what was done all you want.

That also false. There was many benefits, just not the same benefits.

You are the doing the tar and feathering, then you want to complain about it. Lol
No, I as a white person get tarred and feathered by the likes of apologists like you (and I'd be one of many). You can try sugar-coat the past all you want and find the benefits. The fact remains a large section were kept out of the daily running of the country and had their rights trampled. Support it all you wish, that's fine.
But don't try package it as a response to terrorists (probably some far-right idea, much like the supposed Communist ideal you spouted about yesterday) that created the idea we would all be in trouble.

We are now, thanks to the NP, their supporters and the past. Pat yourselves on the back. What will be left when those of us who want to leave do, will be nothing like what the country could've become.
Our past directly has consequences for our future. We are living in those consequences now.

Over and out!

Says the person running away, even this post is you running away from something.

Don't kid yourself that this is not what you are doing especially when it's logic like yours that helped fool people into believing the utopian fantasy lie that is the rainbow nation.....

EDIT:Referring to this specifically

You are primarily so against it because it personally affects you not because you actually disagree with it, it's an opinion that comes from fear.

Wow, such magnificent insight. I stated that it was not a crime against humanity and that it brought a lot of benefits. If that makes me an apartheid apologist so be it. Fact is if we did not have apartheid this country would have failed decades ago like the rest of Africa.
Eish. There is no other title above King of apartheid apologist. Sorry. It is what it is.

No fear. And how did you work that out across a keyboard? Another overreach.

Stay, nobody is asking you to leave. We will leave for the future of our family. That's not running away. That's protecting a heritage.
I was 19 when I first voted and wanted the best. That has been eroded over time. We came from an unjust system into an unjust system. It's people like you and the people running the country (either into the ground like the ANC, or potentially turning into a scorched earth like the EFF) that have broken any chance this country could be different.

That last part is such a vague assumption. Really. I am intelligent and have no idea what you actually mean. It doesn't personally affect me. It affects most whites trying to live a quiet life here.

By all means, be an apologist for the past. The country needed people like you then. It's a moral and ethical standpoint...some are just lower on the rung.

Over and out!

Many of them...all SJWs for Apartheid and trying to sugar-coat the "benefits" of it. What a joke...both them and their ideals. Sad place to be in really...

Yes of course, it's always someone else, and that someone else is always less moral. The weak "lets all just get along" modern morality has nothing going against it no matter how much harm it does.

If you think that's a sign of weakness, you need to look at yourself. Stay dude, nobody is begrudging you that.

Wow? You'll be running away from something you're taking with you. Where to start with your mental pretzels? Nvm ...

I do find it almost hillarious how some people keep going on about unjust systems..... when their ideas never seem to actually create perfectly just one's.....

You know what is a joke. Your country falling apart around you and you going on about stuff that happened 50 years ago. That is a joke. the joke is on you because you are stuck in the past and therefore have no future.

I do...just not here. The discussion was exactly around the past. Go back and read.

No. There's nothing wrong with having an identity. It is vital.

It should just not be mixed identity politics, (Critical race theory) or old fashioned tribalism were people kill each other over grazing land. That is stupid.
