They've been doing this for a while now. The irony is that they were calling on ANC members to vote against the ANC a few years ago yet appear to treat those who vote against them the same way the ANC does.

But as the one source in the article says, it sounds like they were looking to get rid of this member in question. A few DA members have been getting fired for seemingly trivial reasons lately so it seems like the party is purging people.

Yes, vote with your conscience, just don't do it against us, we will deal with you, swiftly and decisively.

Lol, and they seem to be implying in the article that people are joining them to cause damage from within.

Don't they internally choose who is their paid representatives? If they feel this way, does it not point to them having poor HR?

Yes. Sounds a bit like the Zuma firepool/gupta days and the ANC votes in the no confidence debate. What's good for the goose is not good for the gander (at least locally).

Who would have thought. The DA is just a dysfunctional result of a larger dysfunctional political system. Just another socialist wannabe party. Trying to win the vote of the poor by buying it with tax payers money. Not able to construct unified modern effective policies but clings to a failed socialist dream. Now tax payers are gatvol and the voting fodder still votes for ANC or has switched to EFF.

Enemy within. Purge with extreme prejudice. Wonder how much they bribed her.

This is part and parcel of any healthy political system.

It happens everywhere, John McCain voted against the Republican party once when they wanted to repeal Obamacare.

Sad thing is DA was well on its way becoming a viable alternative to the ANC -- but Helen and her laptop boys killed the dream and has set ZA opposition politics back for a generation, if not more. If only they understood that their party always initially leaks support, when it pivots to a more progressive direction...but always comes back stronger as the tent becomes bigger....Progressive Party, pivoted united likeminded into the DP...even old Tony realised that he could not lead the new incarnation/DA to poll success ... the DA leadership should read some of John X Merriman's ramblings about progressiveness ...and how the progressive dream at the Cape was deferred in 1910 ... due to fear of losing control and none whites becoming a real political force... "this has happened before, and will happen again, again, again..."

The only grew amongst blacks when they compromised on core values. We don't need another ANC.

we needed an alternative, even one with compromised core values...there were plenty of good, of all colours within...and plenty more were signing up to a ZA for all....that turned out to be yet another example of not being able to transcend ones personal fear and placing people/country first.
