I bet you won't want to discuss the fact that it has one of the best operated Airlines now.

Disconnect in the universe.

Schenker, FedEx, UPS, ... all disagree. I believe there is a open case somewhere about 'Africa time' :whistling:

You sound like Chumpie now with 'South African being a civilized country'.

Perhaps you meant best operated African Airlines?

The success of Ethiopian Airlines can be attributed to two factors. First: It is the airline's clarity of vision and independence from the government in day-to-day operations. Despite being state-owned, Ethiopian Airlines has been operating its day-to-day business independently as a commercial entity, which was further supported by competent leadership and well-trained staff. To put things into perspective, we can say that the government is the owner of Ethiopian—but its business has been profoundly managed like any other corporation.

Second: Ethiopia’s geographical location has also contributed immensely to establish itself as an aviation hub connecting Africa with the Middle East, Asia and Europe. In recent times, Addis Ababa has become a hub, where it is able to attract and transfer much more traffic, particularly from Asia moving on to the American continents. Addis Ababa is also developing Africa’s largest airport. Ethiopian Airlines is spending an estimated $5 billion to develop the port which could possibly become Africa’s busiest airport capable of handling more passengers than the current busiest hub in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Do you think the ANC will sit up and take note?

It's a lot better than a lot of the airlines from western countries.

I have worked all over Africa and the world and have flown most airlines. Ethiopian is one of the better airlines.. The best are Emirates, Singapore and Cathay Pacific. SAA used to be good and on par with Lufthansa, KLM and Air Namibia (Now closed down). OK applies to British Airways, Air Berlin and Air Kenya. Crummy applies to all US Airlines, Air France and TAP (Portugal). Awful applies to TAAG (Angola) and Air Nigeria.

That's where I am as well. I actually believe that if we did "blind tests" on individuals on policies, many DA supporters would actually find they more closely align with the FF than the DA (take a short read of the 2019 FF+ manifesto) but because the FF is regarded as a bit of a joke by the media (including much of the English-language media), there is no contemplation of voting for the FF even if you are unhappy with the DA.

This tweet from a DA supporter kind of sums it up for me:

Even if they don't have a good part you need collisions. It's better to be involved than to just moan from the sidelines.
