SO this is it guys, the DATA PRICE WAR has officially ended like a fart in the wind with MTN relaxing their 2GB promotion.
The next price revolution will be in 2010 in time for the World Cup visitors. Until then let's pick up where we left off with our bitchin, moaning and backstabbing.

huh??? how could the feedback not have been positive??? the statement should have actually read 'MTN have noticed that VODACOM whacked them over the head and now HAVE to make the 2GB promotion permanent'

'MTN does not foresee a price war and are focusing their energies on offering quality and maintaining standards.'

cough*%$%$cough ya right MTN!! that statement alone is basically saying 'MTN does not foresee a price war due to the fact that VODACOM is clearly the winner and we cannot match their pricing, so we will now try to focus our energies on fixing/replacing all our broken towers.'

Then they go on about the fact that VODACOM does not offer their data bundles to prepaid subscribers and they do...come now...who cares about that?? ...at the end of the day VODACOM is cheaper and the $$$ factor is the main factor.

Quite a lot of people, have a read through the PPDB thread in the Vodacom Broadband sub-forum.

...at the end of the day VODACOM is cheaper and the $$$ factor is the main factor.

It's not the main factor, Virgin Mobile have had cheaper data for a long time, but their service just hasn't been reliable.

Since when has $$$ ever been a main factor. Its what u get for that money that matters. I mean you not going to buy a cheap rusted to the ground, barely moving vehicle because its cheaper so why follow the same logic in products. Service delivery is what i personally look for ( which is by far MTN... never once have i been cut off because a tower is too full unlike vodacom ) and who ever goes the cheap route is just plain stingy.

That is so true. I mean if you buy a 3G card from a provider who doesn't even supply the service then you def dont know any better.
