If you Android device is on your wifi then you only need to setup unotelly on your router.

Nope, don't think so. Unotelly is set up correctly on the router.
Seems they've made the android app so that it bypasses any DNS servers you setup on the Android device or on the router.

Netflix seems to be borked right now. Anything I watch, it only goes to 25 percent on the buffer and then gives me the error message

Agreed, I'm forced to use 3.7.1 on my mx3 2gb and have tried all sorts other tricks but no go. What will presumably follow is Netflix only working on the latest version like Sky Go and others.

I see there's mention of a workaround if you have a router with DD-WRT.
I don't have one so that's a no-go for me.

Edit:
I think I might be in luck. A buddy of mine has a TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND router which he's not using at all.
That particular router is listed as being DD-WRT compatible. So I guess I just have to see which revision it is and flash it with the relevant DD-WRT firmware.

I'm having the same since the weekend. I just did a factory reset of Roku, changed DNS and then back to Jhb and Cape Town, reloaded all the channels etc but no change. So Netflix is outsmarting me :-(
I got it working after blocking the Google dns lookup as stipulated in the post below yours.

What I don't get is why Netflix is using DNS servers at all. They would be more successful in blocking the unblockers, if they simply hardcoded the Netflix streaming servers IP addresses into their apps. No?

Unotelly doesn't change the streaming server address, only the authentication servers IPs. Hard coding can never work as they use a massive cdn that can change at any time, eg any isp can install a local Netflix appliance into their dc for their clients.

Ahh ok. That makes sense. Thanks.

I love Netflix (have for over a year now) but I still can't fathom how they decide what to show and when! None of the Die Hard's except number 3 (With a Vengeance) available. How do they only have Skyfall to stream, but none of the other Bond movies? Seriously, not a single Bond movie I searched for (www.moreflicks.com) was available apart from Skyfall (and we're talking more than 60 movies spread out over half a century here!) :wtf:

Quite frustrating...

EDIT: Not quite sure why I thought 60 Bond movies... closer to 30.
I see [atleast] ten when I search netflix. As good as moreflicks is it's not the be all and end all.

True. I have no idea how often they update their database. Still useful though.

Nice article, thanks! I have the an unlimited telkom ADSL facility, and an ordinary HD tv. If I wanted to watch movies on the tv, would you recommend I use Chromecast, or similar?

Thanks man, maybe I should try search more dilligently. Still really frustrating though. Wanted to have a Lethal Weapon marathon the other day and I think only one of the four was available to stream (based on Moreflicks).

Got a query regarding series. It really irritates me when after the 3rd or 4th episode of a series, it pops up a menu asking if I want to continue watching or go back to browse (or whatever the options are). I then have to get up off the couch, go to my pc and click on Continue Watching. Is it possible to disable this menu and make it so that NetFlix just continues playing?

Up to you and your Budget - Chrome Cast is Ok but you have to link it to a PC or Phone / Tablet.

Most of us use Standalone media players I use a WDTV Play (it was cheap and i needed 2 its Ok -software can be a little buggy and very little streaming apps compared to some of the other devices) , other guys on the Forum use the WDTV live and the Roku 3 (from the way they go on about it it might be the best) or Apple tv etc

Oh if you have a Ps3 / Ps4 or Xbox 360 or Xbox One you can get Netflix - Personally use the Xbox 360 was easy to set up
