What is so sad or even grudge one more... is the fact that imo our fielding was not that bad as everyone makes it to be.... two missed runouts and a dropped catch... did you guys watched the game how they threw their bodies around fully committed.

How many dropped catches did Australia had yesterday, but because they still won nobody is bothered with their poor fielding. Guess one have to blame something right?

In a world cup you're not supposed to be dropping/missing virtually anything. Losing for example 2 relatively easy run-outs shouldn't even happen in 1st class cricket. I didn't watch all of the Aus game, but they seemed to have brought both the batting and bowling (which NZ didn't)...so if their fielding was sub-par they still easily made up for it with the rest.

I think it's fair to say the D/L revised target was understated as it doesn't take into account that ABD was at the wicket. Arguably the best batsman in the last 15 overs in recent times. D/L works with averages and ABD is far above average.

DLS is used to generate the most fairly constructed innings total.
Its a score generator and the best at the moment. Its not supposed to be Nostradamus.

Dont think so...
Lets take the pool game between South Africa and Pakistan, Pakistan were bowled out for 222 in 46.4 overs and 'revised target' for SA was 232 in 47 overs. Why add runs to Pakistan total when they were bowled out which means they did not have resources as I understand DLS is used.

The game was interrupted due to rain if i recall.
I think they had more wickets prior to the rain falling.
They also started the match with 50 overs remaining which benefits them, as the chasing side will know the overs left in the innings.
Should rain fall in the run chase, it swings back to the chasing sides favour should they have wickets in hand.
Only 10 runs were added so thats not much.
