Woooaaaa...

Iburst to Iburst is coming to an end. There will be no connectivity allowed between units. I have been identified as a user who is abusing the peering system and have been cut off. This sucks. ADSL now looks better by the day.

Personally I don't use P2P but Crash, how is that lovely? If they enforce this then user's shouldn't get suspended. They must fix their stupid bw manager.

The guys that experience slow speeds always blame other users for your mishaps. My browsing speed is almost always good & I think that applies to everyone in Bedfordview. Saturday & Sunday mornings have been crap lately & I've been forced to use a local proxy to browse international sites. Could it be other user's downloading 24/7? I think not!

If this turns out to be their methodology, then I was right in my belief that they are pulling a "sentech" on you guys, just like Sentech did with us geeks who signed up with it.

My theory is that they don't want high bandwidth users on their network at all, because they cannot supply them - they'll go bust.

What they want is joe average users who do light surfing and email.

Rebel. I should have put a <sarcastic> at the end :p

It's bull. Although, I have seen that Burst to Burst is rather unreliable to say the least.
Transfers, stall and splutter and fart.

BTW, does the local proxy stuff work alright?

OK .well i did UL 43Gig and DL 39 Gig. I have connectivity at 64k but they have switched off my iburst to iburst totally and have indicated that any attempt to bypass the bandwidth usage monitor is abuse and they will terminate my contract. Looks like normal usage for me again.

It works most of the time as local access is usually fine. It's definately better than a direct international connection via WBS.

AJD, just switch to ADSL, WBS is the crapest company one can imagine, so this is no surprise to me! They will do everything to screw you! Telkom is bad, iBurst is bad on power of 10. As I said before this people should be croping bananas, not selling internet, as they don't know what that is anyway!

Erm, Iburst to Iburst is free traffic. WBS does not pay for this traffic.

True but also remember their trying to keep the towers from overloading. Imagine if this trend grows alot and the whole iburst network gets overloaded. Many ppl who still have full speed gigs to use won't get full speed or even good speed if the tower is overloaded.

Don't get me wrong I'm all for sharing but the reality in SA is that they will try to be as profitable as possible, and spare where ever they can(such as upgrades to the network to counter sharing between ibursters). They much rather just stop us from doing it all together. So I say if u share with fellow ibursters only get what u need.

I think 100gb a month is'nt over doing it. I averaged more than that a month on my 2mb ADSL in london, but that's there where just about everything is uncapped and unshaped. Here it's a much different story with evil telkom.

I'm glad to see that they did'nt disconnect you altohether AJD :p
