And this is why ordinary grownups have to pay ridiculous insurance costs and excess waiver fees on rental cars.

Nothing handbrake turns like a rental... they say.

I don't abuse my rentals, the risk is too costly. Also, anyone else notice that rental car's clocks are often horribly wrong? I'm sure this must bug other people.

"Spin hom, dis 'n rental!" the afrikaans saying

The only time I've left terra firma in a car is in a rental :D
There is this epic rise and dip in the road just before one of our big clients, hit that at more than 60km/h and you're airborne for a moment. On route to another client there is an epic one, you need to be doing about 90-100km/h though, but you can get a second or two of airtime - enough for a couple of warning lights to come on in the dash and that cool weightless feeling.
There is also a legend in the office that on one occasion our boss broke an axle on the first road

Where in Cape Town are you? :D

See my later post - I only do this in the USA
But there is one spot nearby where the unwary can get some airtime - it is a traffic light with a weird bump and once in a while a non local will go faster to miss the red, and then you see their eyes go huge :D

Lol. I think that the rental car abusers are in the vast minority. Most tourists/business travellers aren't really interested in reving the crap out of an i10.

You'd be suprised what people do when it ain't your car.......

Seen this firsthand, borrowed somebody my car when I'm next to them,

Hmmmm....

Is this the cheapest car to rent in SA?

"Tempest Car Hire has added 200 Chery QQ3 hatchbacks to its fleet. At R145 a day, the company claims the QQ3 is the most affordable rental car in SA."

http://www.wheels24.co.za/News/Is-this-the-cheapest-car-to-rent-in-SA-20150831

"The sub-compact QQ3 coincided with the local introduction of Chery to SA in 2008. The entry-level units used by Tempest are powered by a 0.8-litre three-cylinder, mated to a five-speed manual, capable of 38kW/70Nm.

That will be the fastest 0.8L car in the World! Rentals.....
