The financial impact of the lockdown on Eskom

Chris Yelland interviewed Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter on 15 April 2020, covering the debt and financial issues facing South Africa’s troubled national electricity utility.

De Ruyter said Eskom was preparing for an uncertain future caused by the global coronavirus pandemic and the national lockdown.

Easy.......Mr De Ruyter
Ask your ANC peers to pay back the money they stole. Then the whole chain must come into action. Way down to the Guptas......to pay back the money.

Are we using so much less power that Eskom actually has an oversupply? Because usually they can't keep up.

You sound like the trade unions. They also keep bleeting on and on about "paying back the money" like it would realistically 1) make a difference and 2) actually happen.

News flash: It can't and it won't.

Thanks for this.

My first thoughts when hearing about the lockdown where about how it would affect the wellbeing of Eskom, SAA and the other government parastatals.

Yes, it wont.
Big ups to the ANC.

We use too much, Eskom cries.
We use too little, Eskom cries.
Sun, rain, hail, open or Hloudi skies, Eskom cries.

Can Eskom just pull up its (16k extra) little girls' panties & get tf on with the job for a change?
