The problem with hiring people from the traditional banks is that they:
1. Have "questionable" experience in providing good customer service
2. The other problem is that they have very little experience with the latest technologies and software development methodologies.

The problem with making assumptions like this is that you often have no idea what you're talking about.

They kind of brought a lot of breakthrough technologies at FNB. They're just accelerating in the same vein here. I think the only criticism was that some of the changes they brought to FNB could be blamed for the frequent fallover of entire banking at FNB. But I'll give them that to teething problems, things are a lot better in terms of availability these days.

Their website looks really really dodge..
Only because it's bare bones. At least it uses jquery / bootstrap. It's a place for info, little more. As a result, it's lightning fast, but as far as I can see, all the info is there.
I am all for informational and simple when it comes to banking, especially if it means lower bank charges.

But here's my pet peeve

Request statements older than 3 months R10 / statement

Nah thanks.
My bank statements take up next to NO storage, and storage costs are cheap.

Depends, but places like Sage (not bank obviously) has their own death by developer section where you just use their tools to write their code. However that isn't true for the whole company. Also The Latest isn't always The Greatest; if we are talking bleeding edge vs established/proven.

Juet fugly IMHO.
Looks like a template/theming app was used
Doubtful. There's nothing to it. If a template / theming app was used, there would be a theme / template. That just looks like a bog standard page with a tiny bit of CSS (likely hand crafted).
. Possibly a WordPress site.
Nah, just jquery / bootstrap. Wordpress would have added 3x the overhead. It's super lightweight. I don't think there's any server side stuff there at all. Just markup and a bit of js.

My theming WordPress tools also incorporate jquery and bootstrap.
If I wanted to replicate this site I could do it in an hour or less.
It's fugly.

The problem with with implying he doesn't know what he is talking about makes it look like you think you are all knowing.

There's no CMS, no database, no server side scripting. It's JS, CSS, HTML.
Liking it is neither here nor there IMO.
I don't like my banks website and they've probably spent years working on it.
These guys are trying to save money. I say go for it. I wish my bank did.

An hour or less? If it takes you more than 10 minutes, I'd say you're an amateur. There's no CMS, no database, no server side scripting. It's JS, CSS, HTML.
An hour or less on WordPress.
I don't use markup languages.
My basic understanding of it works well enough. I'll gladly wear the amateur badge for it.

If you wanted to.
I don't want to however.
Are you done measuring who has the biggest cock?
I could send you a photo of mine if you send me your number.

I actually like the fact that there's women in the executive structure, If they can take on TymeBank's goal save with higher threshold I might actually use them as my main savings account.
