Time to repost an image from page 70 (@LazyLion) in this thread:

Edit: The current 75% Vaal Dam level is not a cause for alarm IMO. By contrast, this thread from 2016-17 shows a real crisis, when levels were below 30%: https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/threads/vaal-dam-levels.837685/post-18653673

Those levels were in August, meaning after the winter. What is the average levels in January?

The rain this morning was most welcome :D

Another pic for perspective, radar shows the CB over the Vaal Dam area, and the storm itself seen from Rand Airport this afternoon - the distances aren't that small (+- 01:00 - 01:30 drive)

Big storm seems to be blowing up Randburg side... wind whistling round the eaves...

I can see we have another heading in this direction. Wonder if it will miss us?

There was quite a downpour in the South, but roads etc are dry back around the northern suburbs :cautious: Watching the radar this afternoon it appeared that the storms grew in the free state / north west and started to weaken as they approached Joburg - much lower returns by the time I left Germiston
