Think we've all gotta start willing this rain - gotta try everything!

I've gone on a massive drive to plant as many spekboom as possible - every week I take cuttings from the "Mother Plant" to make little babies.

Hoping to start planting them all around my suburb

Can't wait for some proper rain. I've heard reports of mid 50's in places in the Kruger as well over the weekend. It's crazy stuff!

Even if it was a request from the mayor himself, it would be exactly that. I can't find any regulation stating you are not allowed to wash your car, water your lawn etc. P.s. I have a borehole, so water usage isn't my biggest worry, but I do have an issue with people making "law" out of opinion.

Also, I'm not saying don't conserve water. Do it anyway, whether the mayor, van Buuren or whoever else asked or not.

It looks like it did come from the mayor --
Still, just the mayor essentially asking that we stop watering gardens etc. at all hours, not "law".

Looks like we should have some continuous rain on Saturday - hopefully the rugby results are equally moist

There is a massive squall of storms currently over SA - its one of the longest I've ever seen (Namibia across a bit of Botswana and well into SA)

On the positive side it seems to be hitting the vaal catchment areas a bit
On the negative side - its passing south of Gauteng :cautious: So we will probably only get some rain much later this evening

According to the TAF's the heaviest rain is forecast from 05:00 on Saturday Morning, but gradually starting from about 19:00 this evening if we're lucky

Tomorrow looks like its going to be very moist
