There was a small thunderstorm cell that passed over Joburg this morning :D some family reported some light hail in Roodepoort, in Douglasdale I got a free car wash, although a brief one

Now i wonder what awaits every night since every day so far weather has been looking innocent and cute during the day and then randomly at night the flood gates open.

And ofcourse accuweather is just like nope no rain buddy dont worry while im looking out the window at the downpour

I wouldn't get too excited these next few days - the system that's been bringing rain to us is slowly dissipating

Mpumulanga however is getting plenty of rain right now from whats left of it, looking at the Radar I'm surprised KZN is the province getting the heavy rain warnings

As I've said somewhere else, the good rains can go first to the farmers and other drought-stricken places so that they can get some good rains for a change, and hopefully, break the drought.

Spotted a very well defined low pressure area in today's satellite image

Sometimes Lows bring rain, sometimes not. The one circled is the one with all the rain offshore. The one on the left has no significant chance of bringing any rain with it yet. But it has potential. So that is the one to watch. For the central Karoo areas, not for GP. The low-pressure band in the middle is where our rain could come from.

Looking at the TAF for tomorrow, we should be in for some decent thunderstorms around Joburg from about 15:00

Pretoria however has no forecast issued yet.... This usually means a high degree of uncertainty - so lets hope the TAF's are correct!

The TS forecasts are rather good for GP, even if the current storm movement direction is confusing, to say the least.
The lack of TAFs either means nothing significant or, the forecasters are still working on the Excel spreadsheets
