Oh **** off. What evidence do you have of such a ridiculous claim?
They're already doing their best to frustrate the State Capture Commission as well as related investigations. There has been threats and intimidations by those implicated, some of whom have connections to that faction of the ANC.

Tenders should be given based on merit and a companies proven track record in delivering. This is how things work in the rest of the world so why do we have a problem here?

Frivolous tenders should be abolished and the state should be capacitated to be able to render such services. And looking at the PPE procurement for example I don't see why it is impossible for the state to offer these services, how difficult can it be to transport masks to a hospital?

There are services that government can tender out and that's where we should be exercising proper procedures and processes.

By all accounts it looks like a slam dunk case for the prosecution - 250 mil paid, not a single instance of work being delivered, only cars and EFTs were delivered to corrupt dogs. My fear is that they will remove Cyril R before his term ends and replace him with a corrupt minion who will reinstate the protection these greedy bastards had all along. It's so fvcking sickening the arrogance of these things, but luckily they are stupid and they left plenty of paper trail

What so every time a new need arises government should be tasked with fulfilling it? That makes zero sense. They don't have the expertise in every field that would be required, it's just nonsense to think that way. That is why you get people in to do the job that are qualified, just because the government is corrupt doesn't mean the tender process is bad. It's how you implement it that counts. As usual with the government, it's bad.

I am sure if you were able to read you would have seen that I acknowledged that there were exceptions where tenders were required.

I don't see anything particularly creative or special about this scam - just your common or garden massive overinflated costing, middleman fleecing, politician kick-backing fare, enabled by the wilful breakdown of any checks or balances and endemic ANC corruption. And true to form, the big name ANC politicians will remain immune from prosecution, while a few irrelevant scapegoats will be sacrificed.

Someone is fingering Ace as the mastermind behind the asbestos plunder.

Hope he goes down hard. We don't need crooks like that in government.

Let's look at SITA. It became a middleman that gets a middleman that has a middleman using a third party contractor than can deliver. The price to the State vs what is beign supplied is similar ot what we see in the OP. The doer waits forever for the money as it gets filtered and siphoned off along the way. Someof the stuff can't be done by the Sate. Also, if you also look at what is asked for vs actually wanted ... :X3:

The state should be severely curtailed to basic things, the state cannot compete with a free market system. The state as we see today has cost this country dearly.
