The hidden price increase when putting your house on Airbnb

Not really a fan of airbnb, used it for the second time this weekend.

Place advertised at R900/day. We stayed for two days, final price is R2583.79

To be fair you know those costs before you pay so it's not hidden. So yes doesn't look great when factor it in but you still have choice to say nope.

You dont know the costs when you're searching though, so you cant compare a place advertised at R900.00 and a place advertised at R1300.00

In early January we stayed in Tsitsikamma. Travelground was over R2k cheaper for 2 nights compared to airbnb. Actually saw it was like that for a lot of places.

Yeah, I usually use booking.com - quite a few of the more commercial places you'll find cheaper elsewhere.

I shop between Airbnb and Afristay. Iirc Afristay also have lower service fees.
