That is absolute garbage from Wiese. How can professional players get it wrong so often?

This probably sounds very stupid but I don't think the big scores we are getting is helping the bowling. When the opposition knows it has to score at 10+ runs per over from the get go it gives their batsman absolute freedom to just tee off from the start.

So you're saying we should bowl first?

It goes back to the selectors concept of trying to fix the bowling. Throw in some more batting. Extend the batting line up and hope for a few more runs to defend. If this were the West Indies, we'd be seeing our butts handed to us on a plate. Eish!

If I may chip in, I'd say we should be able to defend the total and take wickets through accurate bowling. Our bowlers had a chance to look at the pitch through our innings and should be able to adjust their line and length accordingly.

Yeah. So much for dropping Steyn for Wiese. That moment of genius ought to tarred and feathered... or worse.

Yeah...the better the batting surface, the less batting you need and the more frontline bowlers. Dropping a front line bowler for an all rounder at a runfest is looking dumb at the moment.

I agree, our bowling is crap but perhaps bowling first would be beneficial to them.

Have to be able to do both...can't rely on winning the toss.

I never said otherwise.

IMO our bowling line up has been weak for quite a few years now, we have one or two stars that come to the fore, but we don't seem to have an all round cohesive bowling unit like we've had on the past

KG being brought down to earth in this tournament...you feel he has the temperament to learn from it.
