just assuming that paying more will mean better wekkas is also not gonna solve the prob. We'll have the same people next year bitsing about more munny and going bos in the streets again.
What we need is to get decent people and pay decent salaries.... and there are quite a few of them (decent hard working folk) already in the public system, which your garden vairiety hooligans want to harass into not working.

Just throwing more munny at the kind of people who abuse other people's rights coz they're not happy, and believe it is OK to burn the schools and hospitals if they don't get their way, and attacking the property and person of other workers who care about the service they provide, and continue to work even though they are also not happy with their package, is definately not going to improve the system.
This is not the kind of people we need or want in our public service, especially not teaching our kids about ethics, and acting grown up & responsible.
Why don't they protest about some of the ministers & others at the top, who are even worse at their jobs, yet continue to get great salaries & increases. I will join in! These guys at the top get good munny, but it doesnt make them better, more responsible and accountable workers

That is valid from that aspect.
However, in short, "paying more does not guarantee a better quality worker, but, paying LESS quarantees that the better quality worker will go to the private sector".

perhaps there should be a complete relook at the whole system.
Paying more for better service, and better people is imo def the right way to go.
We know it works, thats why the private sector hospitals and schools have better, 'happier' workers, and better service, and we know people are willing to pay more for the service they get there, why lotsa folks would rather go to private institutions even though it costs more.
I for 1 would be willing to pay more taxes, for a better public service  IF it was going to work...
But isn't that what we are already doing??? Apart from our taxes, we keep paying more in fees for the services we need, but theres not much in line of better service.
So perhaps one of the problems are that the increased income to gov, does not go, as promised, into paying better munny, for better people and better service.... wheres the wip  So come on u ministers, get off your ass, also start working properly to earn your big paycheck, and use your budgets properly to pay decent salaries and attract good quality workers!

I am pretty sure we could get one decent effective nurse for the same price as three nurses who pick their nose in the canteen while patients die.

True, but the big problem will come when you attempt to dismiss those three lazy nose pickers for not working for their munny.

Those lazy sh*ts in Home Affairs don't even bother going to the canteen, they sit and eat their KFC while dealing with the public.
