The Importance of a Guild

I am sorry if this seams like a lame attempt to flog the guild or the game. I have just become desperate and am really trying to reach out as far as possible in the hope more and more people who are playing or are thinking of playing wow will become aware of the current situation. This situation I am referring to is the fragmantation of the SA wow community as many new players and even experienced players are just not aware of other South African players and as such land up playing on different realms. Problems occur when you now reach the max character level and now want to experiance the high end content as also all of this content requires that you be part of a guild normally consisting of at least 40 members. As the majority of other players are american and thus play at vastly different times to us, it is hard for us to operate with them so the only logical alternative is to form guilds of south african players but because of the fragmantation I spoke of ealier this is extremly difficult. Efforts have been made by myself and other cummunity members to try and concentrate the community but as yet have had little success. So I hope this makes the intentions of my post clearer.

On that note, if you need ANY information regarding South African based guilds, on both US ane EU realms, please do not hesitate to PM me. Even if you are just new to wow and need some help in selecting a realm type or character feel free to PM me and I will be happy to assist you. Information is really the key to growing the player base into a strong cummunity.

Thanks for your time.

The biggest SA ONLY Horde guild that I'm aware of is Dark Rage. They're on Twilight's Hammer (PvP realm) on the EU servers.

I'm a PROUD member... well, when I can get my damn game to patch... -_-

Thats right, Dark Rage is on Twilights Hammer EU on the horde side.

There is an alternative horde guild called Illusion started from some members splitting of from Dark Rage. They however do recruite international players as well. If I could just remember their website address I would add it here.

Found it:

One problem is until paid transfers become available, it is very difficult to unite the the South African community.

The prospect of starting again from scratch on a new server(realm) does not look great when you already have 3-4 charcters over 30 and already have a 60 or 2. I know on the realm I play, there are a couple of South Africans (some of which have a couple of 60s) and trying to unite them is not the easiest (I actually gave up at it).

Yeh, that is a problem and I don't blame people.

Hell, I have a level 28 warrior that I don't want to let go off, but he's on Kul Tiras (PvE) and my lvl40 'lock is on Twilight's Hammer (PvE)... so I have to restart the warrior on TH, 'cos I like the playing style... I started the warrior 'cos I was getting annoyed by the ganking... but now I miss all meh buddies, so I have to head back... *pout*

Yeah I can't do much for the ppl who have already got high level chars on servers with no other south african contingent but I can try my best to make sure all the new players get a good home :p Sofar as rerolling goes I would say it's worth it for anything less than 50 .... it might seams like a long way but trust me you will thanks me in the end.

MrG, that's a big move. 58... damn. I started a new character this week, on level 6 now, if you hurry and join on Twilight's Hammer, I'm sure I can get you into the guild and help you out where I can.

Friend of mine wants to move from U.S to E.U soon, he has a 60 Pally which he is planning on dumping. If he goes I would probably go, and so would 2 of my other friends.

Just need to check which server goes where lol - thanks will get back to you about guild, would be great.

I'm also a member of Shadow Conclave. Advice to lvl60's who have only low lvl guildies: Help them to Lvl, we had lotsa help from lvl60's while lvling. Its worth it for loyalty. Who's gonna leave a guild that helped them lvl?

Hey everyone, i have a 54 shaman on Rexxar US PVE.
I joined it as a starter guild and now that everyone is getting high levels the raid times are ridiculous. When paid transfers for rexxar become available i would like to transfer and join a south african only horde guild that does high level instances and raids when i eventually hit 60 :)

You can now add

Ancients of Honor to the list of SA guilds on the US Stormrage server. Not as hardcore as FoA and Affliction, and perhaps more structured then Awakened Guardians.

Nice of you to take a "dig" at the other South African guilds!

AG is not really that unstructured.. Perhaps if you made 60, and raided for awhile then i'd find a comment like that fair. But unfortunately that's not the case.

Good luck with AoH.

Stormrage is an over-populated realm, thats why we created the guild Insidius on Blackhand, if we could we would transfer our characters to Stormrage. :(

Anyway, we are a friendly bunch with great alliances and South Africans are welcome to join. We have our own Vent server aswell.
