Nice of you to take a "dig" at the other South African
guilds!

It was not intended as a "dig" at the other South African guilds, but in good South African fasion you see the negative long before the positive.

AG is not really that unstructured.. Perhaps if you made 60, and raided for awhile then i'd find a comment like that fair. But unfortunately that's not the case.

Lemme clarify the unstructured comment. By that I simply meant to say that there is a fixed rotation schedule in AoH instead of the free for all (highest DKP) system that is used by AG. Please realise that there are ppl who can not at a whim join a raid, and that structured fixed rotation system is a better solution for them.

I must say I really love to see that its guilds all over the world that fight about raid systems. I play with american friends, Yeah its a bitch, but i've been doing it for 12 years now so Its pretty much a way of life.

I've tried playing with SA people, But I cant adapt to a "Normal" time schedule. The next thing is as mentioned.. giving up my L60's that i've worked so hard on.

HOWEVER (yeah it had to come) While people might not like the Highest DKP system, it works. It makes sure that people who have put the most time and effort into it, get first choice, Slightly unfair maybe, but you cant expect somebody who shows up once every 3 months, to have the same rights as somebody who has worked thier ass off for a year.

Granted its hard if your new moving into this system since you will be at the bottom of the list, but give it time, and dedicate yourself to it, and guess what people will notice, and before you know it you will be on the top as well, Or your guild will get big enough to support 2, or 3 raids at the same time and then you will also get that DKP.

I'm not in any SA based guild, and If I can be among the top 5 rogues in my Guilds DKP list playing (meaning I have to play at 2:00 am to raid) I'm pretty sure it should not be a problem when your playing on the same time zone.

Unless of course (and I dont know anyone here with regards to this), Somebody is upset that they are at the bottom of that list and being greedy, want a slice of the Pie without having to do any work??

Well thats the theory, the fact is all that ends up happening is the more raids you do the more raids you get to do. It happens all the time, so does inflation .... a sloppy dkp system might work while you are all still new to raiding but once you have ppl which have more of their gear, you will see inflation just kill the prospects of anyone new trying to get some loot :p Anyhow thats enough from me ....

I agree completely Abn0rm4l, However if the guild is worth anything, that 40 man MC raid.. will turn into a situation where you now have 80 people online, and hey.. since you have been trying to catch those who have been there from the beginning, guess what, you will now be on top of the next 40 man raid.

The system rewards those who try the hardest to be there. This system screws over most south africans who are trying to keep up with most other time zone players. But since this topic is about South African guilds... no body has an excuse in my books.. Unless your being greedy of course (and BTW this is not at anyone here.. its against any of the greedy american guilds I know, but the concept remains the same)

I hope that people reading this and are thinking of buying the game decide on a realm before starting on a realm without a SA guild.

All the games I sell come with an email of local SA Guilds, but I do not know how to impress the importance of choosing the right realm.

So if you are about to buy the game CHOOSE YOUR REALM CAREFULLY

There is a list of realms in #wow on irc.shadowfire.org (type !guilds)

Cheers
