You won't get the free internet of a Blackberry but you can get a BBM app for cheaper messaging.

Yes, I know I won't get the unlimited Internet. My post didn't even question that. And I can get a BBM-type app, not actual BBM, which doesn't solve the problem any.

Sad... Just get "Whatsapp" and get everyone with WhackBerrys to get it too (free for whackberrys)

I've gotten quite a lot of people to get WhatsApp but it's not as convenient when pretty much all my friends have BBM pre-installed on their phones. And WhatsApp really doesn't work nearly as well as BBM. Delayed message delivery is pretty much the norm with it.

Why are iPhone fans so anti someone developing some work around? People make out that it's the ultimate sin to want BlackBerry Messenger on iPhone. At the end of the day, BlackBerrys are experiencing massive growth in South Africa and so BBM is becoming a first choice for communication. And to anyone thinking "Well of you're so desperate, just get a BlackBerry", stfu:)

We're not anti someone developing some workaround. We're totally for a workaround, I just don't know if it's possible.

If you want the full features of blackberry messaging your best option is a blackberry, obviously.

Since restoring my iphone to factory default settings and upgrading to OS4 on my 3GS, my airtime is getting chewed. My email is not on. Anyone know what else could be chewing my airtime?

My wife's phone is doing the same thing ! dunno what is causing it :) also upgraded to OS4 and was since then that it's gone wild

Hey guys, posting this from my new iPhone and I know how you all love helping the newbies so was wondering what the deal is with the app store now cause i signed up (sa account) and downloaded a few things but found that some recommended apps on the net don't come up in the istore. Are there local restrictions on the app store still? Many thanks!

Anyone using a Speck candy shell case?

Mine freaking broke, its cracked at the bottom on that thin strip just below the home button. I haven't drop the phone or anything.

Only had the thing since Jan and for R300 I would expect more :(

I've had the exact same thing happen to my Speck cover, so did a buddy's. It's got a 12 month warranty, so maybe take it back and ask for a new one?

I bought mine in Umhlanga, but I think it may have been a VC outlet, will need to check.

R300 is a fortune for a cover, I bought it because I was almost certain at that price it would last the test of time. I was wrong.

Got mine from VC as well. R300 is not cheap, but I see them as wear & tear items so if they last more than 6 months while protecting my phone I'm happy.
Current one is some ugly Griffin thing - cost R500 I think but this one WILL last.

Yeah I get the wear and tear thing, but this thing just cracked, If I had dropped it and it cracked but saved my phone that is a different story.

Mine cracked the same place, still in use though as my friend is using it, I use a switch easy cover as it is easier to remove for when I use my Tom Tom car kit.

Can someone tell me, the Cellular Network Data counter under settings - usage, does that calculate monthly and then reset or does it just accumulate until such time as you reset.

If you reset will it say "reset 1" because currently it says "reset never"
