The little lightning bolt

I have a question/suspicion regarding the 'little lightning bolt' (LLB)...

I am aware of the LLB at the top-right on the login screen and it's function, to download updates whilst the GW is idle. Now, I've got Prophercies (brought) and Factions (brought) and up to date and whenever I leave my GW idle, the LLB still downloads. I've left it and come back and seen it downloaded 120MB, close the app, restart it and watch it download some more - it never ends. My question is WHAT THE HELL IS IT DOWNLOADING ???? Do any of you guys know ? Test it...leave it at the login screen and watch...

spaceman there are a lot of stuff to download doubt you have downloaded everything my gw folder is about 2.5gb now and still downloading

Btw I am really hoping for the 3rd expansion. Do you think they will release it within the next 6 months or maybe next year

2.5 GB ? Wow, mine is only 1.84 GB.

Note: My folder only includes the three files (and no screenshots). Actually two, as one is an empty log file.

Actually its just my .dat file thats that big

My gw.dat is at 1.987 GB and I do not have any lightning bolt downloads at the moment. I still sometimes get small downloads when visiting new areas.

My gw.dat is 2.155.566 KB (2.1GB).
I do not have any lightning bolts. Only updates I get these days are the weekly patches they are doing.

Finally the LLB stopped when I got home last night after doing another +-50MB. Now it doesn't appear, yay !

My (current and up to date) Gw.dat is 1.8Gb.

my dat file is at 1.993 gb and there's no lighting bolt

I know the dat file will uncompress certain files once you reach that area which could explain why most people have around 2+ gigs

It's simply updates that have been released since they pressed the CD's.

It's not the 3rd chapter of Guild Wars. They would warn/advise people like they have done on previous occasions if the new release is being deployed.

You've got to remember that Factions is not that old and they would still have to do closed Alpha testing before even thinking of releasing another Beta weekend.
