That report is terrible. The article is crawling with spelling mistakes, grammatical errors and the maths is beyond terrible! But then it is what we should expect with a 30% pass rate I suppose.
Viva 30% pass rate, Viva!!!

What am I doing wrong? For JHB in that chart 1995 to 2021 is 26 years but the chart says 61 years.

The number of years is the amount of data collected for that weather station since it was first established (e.g. 1960), not the duration between new records.

Ok. Thanks for that. I was wondering why all the math seemed to be wrong. I should have looked at the website for clarification perhaps. Thanks.

The SAWS data is not exactly intuitive. BTW, there is one more table, which makes for fascinating reading, the national extremes:

Criteria Value Date Place
Highest Max Temp 31.6 2021-07-22 HOEDSPRUIT AIR FORCE BASE
Lowest Max Temp 3.8 2021-07-22 LADY GREY - IDEAL
Highest Min Temp 11.4 2021-07-23 PORT EDWARD
Lowest Min Temp -10.8 2021-07-23 FICKSBURG
Maximum 24 Hour Rainfall 30.8 2021-07-22 PORT ELIZABETH AWS

What is with the sudden heat? It's still winter and we are starting to see rather high temperatures for Winter?

Another cold-front passing over CT right now. The rest of the country need to get your jerseys ready by Tuesday.

Love the slightly warmer weather that August brings. August also brings the fragrance of the Jasmine vine in our driveway. Looking forward to its welcome return.
