Dogs ate the rain gauge so no idea how much it rained.

But it was PLENTY!

Pools of water in the yard. And swimming pool level went up a lot! Glad because I needed to top up and did not want to use municipal water.

Never understood why someone deliberately makes a hole in a roof. Never seen any of things ever being trouble-free.
Have 3 in my house for almost 20 years now, without any issues. 45cm ones In the passage, kitchen (dark due to big afdak) , domestic room . Also a big mother (about 1x1.5m) above my pub, but that was built-in.

Lots of rain in Wilgeheuwel, while driving to the office my freaking windscreen wiper broke :-( I know it's been almost 2 years since it was actually used but wow, also almost an hour to get into the office when it normally would take 20 minutes.

Heavy..... as in HEAVY lightning in Centurion! Started to rain now! Another wow session coming down! #02 for spring!

I was sleeping at 2am, but later on it seemed to be raining nicely. Around 5 or so we had more of the chain lightning going on, I thought it was going to blow out a window.

I drove from JHB south to Centurion this morning.

The rain was intense but my god, the brains of the average driver in these conditions. Standing water where you can feel your car pulling and people are tailgating and lane changing on a whim. Passed a car that had spun out and smashed backwards in to the central divider and not even 500m beyond that people are back to idiotic driving. You just drove past someone that wiped out, maybe get a clue?

Cleared up slightly but seems another wave on the way, some nice changes to new iOS15 weather app.

We had 34mm overnight in Parkhurst with more rain expected later today and through the night. I am not looking forward to it, our kitchen skylight still leaks although a lot less than it previously did, arg.

Mrs Netherby is trying to sell me the positives of skylights. One in the kitchen and another in the dining area. Your post might just be crushing her dreams. Thank you!

Not sure what roof you have but I saw these a while ago and plan to go that route when my other projects are done. Easy to replace the old tiles if there are any issues.

DON'T DO IT!!11!!!!!1!

If you get a good installer with a good product fir for your roof type you may never have issues but we tried to do it using custom frames, glass, etc. and while I have got it better it isn't perfect. Our final straw will be to remove it, replace the roof with new Chromadek and I'll turn the skylight in to an LED lightbox.

Now that makes sense.
