I drove from JHB south to Centurion this morning.

The rain was intense but my god, the brains of the average driver in these conditions. Standing water where you can feel your car pulling and people are tailgating and lane changing on a whim. Passed a car that had spun out and smashed backwards in to the central divider and not even 500m beyond that people are back to idiotic driving. You just drove past someone that wiped out, maybe get a clue?
saw a 6 car pile up in the fast lane with all these idiots tailgating in this weather,
N1 before Soweto Highway off ramp, its like Lemmings deliberately drive like they want to die in this weather, quite amazing actually.

keep distance, reduce your speed, headlights on, is that too much to ask your empty brains?

You got that wrong, headlights, foglights, extra lights all on bright, voet in die hoek, cellphone in hand filming the water wakes.

We had 34mm overnight in Parkhurst with more rain expected later today and through the night. I am not looking forward to it, our kitchen skylight still leaks although a lot less than it previously did, arg.
The first thing I did today was stand under the skylight and see if there was any water dripping or anything on the floor. Thankfully all good. I then realised it's been about two years since the silicon around the glass outside was renewed and have made a mental note to call the guy who did it last time to come again.

If I can talk about motivation . The guy that did it , was actually there to install those dome tube skylights in our kitchen and but then walked across the entire roof and used the tiles that they removed for the dome skylight installation to replace other cracked ones that he saw. All by himself . He then showed me pics of the silicone on the big skylight that was weathered and finished. Offered to fix it for 300 IIRC as he had the right silicone and I couldn't refuse. His workmanship had stood the test of time so far.

Now I am hoping his number is still in my address book.

Truck jackknifed after Gosforth plaza going towards Dalpark this morning. Was pissing down too.

Most probably went too fast, then tried to do an emergency brake and jackknifed.

No thanks, every time there is a lightning storm by us our main substation gets taken offline and takes half the day to fix.

Called it, power was off from before i woke up to 9:15

We really need to take out that R90k loan for a 12.5KvA gennie.

Not sure what roof you have but I saw these a while ago and plan to go that route when my other projects are done. Easy to replace the old tiles if there are any issues.

So I assume you don't have any ceilings in your house..... not sure what use a clear tile is if your ceiling still blocks the light :)
