I flippen love the airshows at Waterkloof but I HATE the amount of dust in the air the even generates...I live across the road from the AFB and my sinuses have been in absolute overdrive during the past week or so! A spattering of evening thundershowers will be more than welcome :)

I thought the Gripens were not flying, but I see they are on the program a few times.

They used to have this show at Ysterplaat while Waterkloof was getting fixed up.
Was always a good day out.

Yep - saw one Gripen landing at AFB on Wed and had a quick look at the last bit of the Rooivalk showing off a bit. Despite all the politics surrounding the SAAF and Defence network etc, the show is awesome! Nothing like the Dexsa of 1995 but still awesome! Would hate for the rain to ruin the show during the day though...

'95 was bloody awesome, I'll never forget the chest-bursting sound of those F16's.

They were also burning grass to prepare parking areas, so even more dust and stuff. At least a water tanker was damping things down today.

Its hot and dry in Randburg, and my app does not show that changing anytime soon. Looking forwards to a little rain. My bedroom was still 26 degrees at 1AM this morning. Struggled to sleep it was so hot. With zero wind there was not even a breeze through my windows.

mandatory mybb suggestion - why don't you move where things are cooler?

Randburg reminds me. We used to stay near Northgate a while ago and it used to be rather hot that side. In Midrand now and with windows & doors open, it is not too shabby today with a bit breeze now and then.

Aircon is on during nights since Sunday - as my 5 year old son found the remote we thought was hidden.
