Colleagues at work said that they had about 15 - 20 minutes of soft rain in Vanderbijlpark last night at about 10pm. No mention was made of the amount of rain that fell, I assume less than 1mm.

Fokkol here, and this heat is killing me. Next week I'm flying to Canada where it is piss cold right now. Whoopee.
I have a big wish to visit Fort McMurray in Alberta, Canada in the dead of winter someday.
They usually go down to -30 to -40 °C in winter. The lowest temperature ever recorded was −53.3 °C

Put some waterproofing on the roof. Not even that provocation brought the rain down before the stuff had dried, so doubt that washing the car will help. Maybe if someone tries to varnish their garage doors?

My wife says it rained for a few seconds last night.
This morning the plot across the road from us was on fire so didn't even wet the grass enough to stop that from happening.

I need to re-coat my deck and the stuff I use takes 12-24 hours to dry... Maybe this weekend?

Nothing big. But enough to probably stay wet for a few hours
Don’t have a rain meter, not that old yet to buy those things and monitor them
