The massive salaries earned by university executives in South Africa

The executives in charge of South African universities are rewarded with very large pay cheques, the Sunday Times reports.

Many local university vice-chancellors received salaries north of R4 million for 2017, including executives from the University of Stellenbosch, University of the Witwatersrand, and University of Venda.

Tbh I don't have a problem with a VC earning that if they do their work well/the university is doing great, e.g. Stellies seems fine/good.

I trust that excuse for an educator/VC from UCT is not one of them.

Oh hold on...uBuntu....'course she is!

Besides her politics and the recent tweets, what has she done wrong so far? What does ubuntu has to do with it?

Universities have become nothing else than extensions of the government. They are being rewarded accordingly. Rewards has nothing to do with experience and capabilities. It is all about political drive.

So which party is Prof. de Villiers affiliated to? Prof. van Staden?

Who?

A lot of the people mentioned are white...

But judging from your "Viva ANC" post history I assume you mean the black professors are racists?

At least 1 VC and recent Twit-ter poster , yes.

Has anyone asked the government to investigate why we pay SARS IT specialist so much?
