The new way to get GMS on new Huawei smartphones

The recently-released Googlefier app allows for the installation of Google Mobile Services (GMS) on Huawei smartphones but comes with significant limitations and drawbacks that users should be aware of.

The app was created by XDA Developer bender_007, and offers a more user-friendly approach to side-loading Google's apps and GMS on newer Huawei smartphones.

What for? At the price of a Huawei P40/Mate 40 I'd expect to not have to do stuff like this. Before anyone tries to tell me how wrong I am, riddle me this. where does this utility get the Google Play services? How can a user validate that there is no funny stuff slipped into the side loaded Google Play Services?

Besides that, no Google Assistant, Google Home, Google Maps, Google News or Google Photos? Still a no thank you.

I agree. At that price-point, one shouldn't have to jump through hoops

It's not available for a reason which is out of Huawei's control, innit?

While not a complete deal-breaker, these messages were annoying to the point where we would actually recommend living without Google on your new Huawei smartphone – rather than having some of its apps working.

In other words, a deal-breaker.

Most people would go further and call the app a failure. What a waste of time.

Don't worry, Biden will be in office January...

Might not bring the immediate relief some think.

Seems like the writer has missed out the last few steps please see this link to get rid of the annoying messages.

Note once the fix is done above maps and photos work flawlessly.

Did it on a p40 lite and the only app not working is Android Auto as it needs an updated gms. So probably in the next few weeks.

Although it is working flawlessly I still would only do on the p40 lite as this blows all the competition out of the water. Main stand out feature for me is the 40w charging on a sub 6k phone. Yip and it does come with the 40w charger in the box.

As for p40 and higher no ways would I even consider paying between 15k and 30k for a phone that needs to be hacked. Note 20 or S20 are my first choice.

Perfectly happy with my P40 Pro (work phone - backup). No need for Google services at all - we've gotten too comfortable with their crap.
There's no need for Google services on a backup phone if you have them on your primary phone.

I believe this comeuppance for Huawei to be good for us consumers. China's premier tech company is not here to lose. Hopefully prices will be lowered to entice us to take up their new ecosystem.
