well i just wanted to start a thread dedicated to bsods from all versions of windows.
I have some great links to solve problems for bsods.
this is one of the great links
Also there is a tool that all versions of windows has to check your drivers.
Run verifier.exe And a wizard will appear. This is a really great tool to.

So boys and girls lets get our windows back.
PS.....all open source trolls please refrain from mental abuse:D

Install Linux or get a Mac :D
Ok, ok, it was uncalled for.... someone had to post it...
That's it everyone - no more Linux or Mac speak here!

great idea for a thread btw...
Faulty RAM and buggy drivers (esp. low level like drive controllers and maybe graphics) are by far the most common cause of BSOD in my experience...

I tried this and all it caused was a permanent BSOD:mad:where I couldn't boot into windows at all. So if your pc is currently working - it ain't broke so don't fix it. Finally got mine to work again after 3 hours

Although to be fair, it confirmed what I suspected - tv card driver not the right one but the card works with it so...

The last time I had a BSOD was when my 1 external HDD's died.
Windows would boot and just BSOD.
If I turned the external off, Windows would boot fine.

Wierd, but since then, which was... what, 2/3 months ago, I haven't had a BSOD in XP (my work and home PC) or in Vista (my other 'home' PC)

Of course it is M$.
Anyone who thinks that an OS that can be crashed by a 3rd party app is a good one, is devoid of good sense.

I remember getting a BSOD on an international flight once (whilst watching a movie). They had to reset the entire block. :D

It happened to me on SAA. It was in 2002. I very clearly remember the message, mentioned something about ctrl + alt + del.

there are many fixes out there for error codes, just mentioning that microsoft do have a search function for error codes, you will have to go to microsoftI have been studying my own codes and came up with really 3 possible reasons. The harddrive has a really bad sector read error, thats one sector,The grafix cards component is going, and the ide controller is near failure.

Please be careful of the latest nvidia drivers,There is some rumours about the latest drivers:(
I think i am one affected.

I know there are so many apps out there for diagnostics and i know so many has been mentioned on this forum.I done some googling and some testing to find some sites and apps for bsods repair or at least see what could cause it
This is a link to some apps but they trial and free,I am sure that the trial can be used for 30 days:Din that time your bsod problem could be fixed in that time

The diagnistics appsSome will be familiar and some new,I have tested them and they actually great little apps:)
