Ping seems average for me (61ms), but speed is quite slow, especially the upload speed (15.38Mbps down/3.37Mbps up).

Did not reboot of yet, performance was decent last night.

I am starting to suffer congestion, in the evenings, during the day, I can stream perfectly, the evenings, my streaming buffers badly. If I take my Vodacom R218H with Telkom pre-paid SIM out and connect to my Nvidia Shield TV Pro, I can stream without issues.

I’m not sure what’s happening but either I’m being throttled or it’s just congestion although it happens at random times. Speeds are fast one minute and 5 minutes later go to sub 1mb and 100-200ms ping uploads stay the same

Well, I have just gotten rid of Telkom, and Rain, have just given me notice that I am now in their 5G coverage area. Spoilt for choice, Supersonic, Telkom or Rain ...

@SupersonicSA

yes, exact same. Last two days have been awful. More and more I have to reboot, been doing this now for weeks. Phone Supersonic, answer is nothing they can do about cell towers ... nice. My FTTH s installed, just waiting for my street to go live, then bye bye.

Everyone says the 4G on rain is fair to help with the addiction of no internet. No idea but when I had to use it last year it was a 10MB package and all I got was 7MB down and like 2 up

When fiber is not an option dye to lack of availability, you are left with Rain, Telkom and Supersonic, not really an awe inspiring selection of choices

find a WISP if you can

Might be an option, but the only one I am aware of, I have no confidence in, not when they put an antenna on a 6 meter unsupported pole that oscillates about a ruler length forwards and the same, backwards in a light breeze.

Will check if there are others, and will have to see, what the Body Corporate says about installation.
