yes there is... i play games off my comp on my pc like that.
I use DAX iso loader

The cable you must get like the usb cable of a sony cybershot camera
I think it is a usb bs cable

Then you must download usbhostfs from the net or just download psphost the latest version

then follow the tutorial on the psp-hacks .com/forum

THe you all go,but remember if you have a wifi router at home

then you can browse your harddrive via adhoc/nethostfs or stream movies,,another but..

yOU MUST HAVE A HOMEBREW FRIENDLY PSP,THAT IS DEPENDINT ON YOUR FIRMWARE

Just downgrade to 1.5,Dark alex has made a good program for that

so of what i understand is you can use your external HD aswell? what about power consumption? etc to psp and outlet of external HD?

Yes and no... you need a program for the external harddrive to work,but remember the psp is not desighned for that.The harddrive must have its own powersupply,ther is a external harddrive that is selfpowered.I know you can buy it ,but i dont know the name
WHy not set up your wifi and then youcan browse,listen to music,play movies,play psp g legit back ups from your computer from anyhere in the world that has a hotspot or an wifi internet connection
You can even use your laptop via adhoc to psp(no internetconnection needed)to brows files play..etc..etc

JUst download irshell2.2 and your on your way
