So I went to a bank today and asked them what is the absolute cheapest account for me.

I get given some option that will still cost too much. What I have realised is that the banks consultants try not to tell you about Mzanzi type accounts, because I think they are trained to try and sell products of higher costs to the customers :mad::mad:

What is the cheapest out there?

Actually, the mzanzi accounts are quite limited, so maybe they didn't tell you about it because they could tell it didn't meet your needs. Did they ask you how many debit orders and electronic transfers you want to do?

Do a search on this forum, tons of threads about this. I cant remeber the details but some of the banks you should have a look out for are Capitec, Go Banking etc. For a little bit more features, i think FNB has some R66 account and Nedbank a R85 account.
