The quiet death of South Africa's first modern electric car

They should have tried to make cheap petrol cars instead and saved the company. It would have been nice to see a nice entry-level R50k petrol car in South Africa.

The irony is, these cars were way too far ahead of the times then. How different things could have been if the timing was maybe a bit better, and they had investors. But that said I'm not sure they could have been the Tesla's of the world today as our local economy clearly is not good enough to launch something on a worldwide scale - for that it seems you need to launch out of the EU, USA, etc where there is more support for startups. Even now, SA is only starting the spark with EVs, and government taxes are still working against that.
