It's stupid, but it has spread wider than just SA. That "coolest monkey in the jungle" H&M thing was international.
Would it be so if the child was any other race? Best is to not use certain oversensitive races in any adverts.

Yes exclude them. Anti-AA. There's justification. They've given us the perfect excuse.

But do they trash the business when even the kid's mother, where they are half way around the world, does not see what the fuss is about?

I was responding to the part in bold.

Going back to your post, don't you think the whole country would've been affected (trashed) if it was about race? Closest H&M store to me is only 3km away. I use the store more often than other clothing stores actually. It was business as usual before and after that nationwide closure.

I was referring to a small local group of people (who I don't know what to call anymore as words changes meaning overnight at their whim) who decided to take it upon themselves to act as proxy of exception on behalf of people around the world. As such the reference to half way around the world where even the mother saw nothing wrong.

Washington - David Lawrence had just settled into seat 22F on a Ryanair flight on Thursday when he heard a commotion brewing on the other side of the plane.
A few rows behind him, a ruddy-faced man with grey hair and dark-rimmed glasses was yelling at a black woman seated along the aisle. "I heard this man shouting at this woman, saying, 'You're in my way, get out! I don't want you here next to me!' " Lawrence told The Washington Post in a phone interview Sunday. "I couldn't believe what I heard."

Lawrence grabbed his phone and started to record the encounter, which took place before a flight from Barcelona to London Stansted Airport. By then, the woman's daughter had come up and confronted the man. "She said, 'Who are you talking to? Don't shout at her, that's my mother, she's disabled,' " Lawrence recalled, noting that the elderly woman had boarded the plane in a wheelchair. "He then was saying, 'I don't care.' "

Just reading the quoted part, I don't see any racism. Mind quoting the part which indicate it being racist from the article? Not going to bother reading the whole thing.

This part perhaps?
The elderly woman says something back at him, prompting the man to retort angrily: "Don't talk to me in a f---ing foreign language, you stupid ugly cow!" and then "Ugly black bastard!"
