It's reported more and more. Has been happening from time immemorial.
Yes but in the past it was sticks and stones can break my bones but words will not hurt me. But now it's oh no you hurt me with a word, now I'll just make your life a living hell.

This happened during your absence. You might have read the article though

What a joke. My (prostitute) neigbours often call me Mlungu, being derogatory. Like when I bust them stealing electricity & had them disconnected & fined. Three times. I simply respond by calling them fat c unt whores. Who cares FFS? It's words. Really, after all the "fighting" for freedom & rights people are now offended by a word? We are, as a nation & a human race, royally fukked.

If someone calls another person the k-word then they deserve to get burned(figuratively).
But calling someone a monkey....cmon!

I'm being called mlungu and makhooa every single day, by colleagues and or clients, it is like water from a goose's back!

Me too...:unsure::)

Would it have been ok if he called him a p**s, would he also have been banned from the club and placed under investigation at his place of work?

Oh goodness me, what shall we do?!
The word "monkey" is such a racist laden word, who will ever be able to comprehend the amount of harm it will cause if we allowed people to call each other monkeys!!! The HORROR!

Yeah saw now, his friend is the witness and the pub also bans the one guy only, guilty before proven innocent.
I mean how hard is it now to have someone else get into trouble by just saying yeah he did call me a monkey. It's ridiculous, this guys life is now ruined, even if it's proven otherwise he's screwed.
This is the quote from the friend

"And that's when he started shouting 'oh stupid monkey, stupid monkey' - something to that effect - something about Lazola being a monkey."

So he said something to that affect? That's not really proof is it?
He's a developer. Probably called him a code monkey.

BLF members accused of ‘racial’ attack on Joburg lawyer

The Johannesburg Bar Council says a female lawyer has been subjected to a vicious racial attack by people wearing Black First, Land First (BLF) t-shirts at the High Court in Johannesburg.
The bar says the woman was cornered in the foyer of the building on Wednesday shortly after a protest outside.
BLF leader Andile Mngxitama has confirmed his members did attack the woman, but he insists they were defending themselves against the lawyer whom they've labelled racist.
“It was an incident of racism and our members did what was required of them as BLF members to defend themselves. I, as the president of BLF, I completely endorse their actions and take full responsibility.”

Eyewitness News asked Mngxitama what the lawyer had said that could be construed as racist. He said he doesn't know but he believes his members.
