It's not that the tshirt or the writing on the wall does anything by itself. The problem is that it encourages behaviour that other people thus encouraged might end up carrying out the act described in the message. To put it simply, it might result in white people being killed. This is why the "incitement to cause violence" is such a critical component.

"**** white people", which is hate speech, ought to be legally protected free speech. "Kill white people" should be proscribed, which it thankfully is.

Racist speech falls into the same category. It dehumanizes the victim and once that happens it is anybody's guess what might happen.

Ok so for the next 50 years while these new owners learn the required skills to farm on a scale that they are able to produce food for the country, what happens in that time?

We fall further into zim 2.0?

A question that has to be raised is will they learn (and no this is not a racist comment ngwe23), considering that to farm on that scale requires vast sums of capital to be done..and where will that capital come from since many people won't be prepared to invest in the country at all, and how do you get someone to agree to the fact that they will take on vast amounts of debt and not be "profitable" for at least 3 years and even then the profitability of the endeavour is in no way guaranteed.

Ultimately then, you want to live in a communist country, since that is roughly (in broad strokes) what Malema is putting forward.

I dont think so. Only key sector of the economy should be at government's hand.

[Can I add a disclaimer: I am a recent convert so i am still going into the detail of what their plan entails ]

What key sectors of the economy?

And what are governments credentials and experience to "operate" those key sectors?

Are there any success stories of a similar approach working anywhere else in the world?

No, racist speech does not inherently incite violence. The incitement is not explicit. The explicitness is the decisive factor.

Transformation in this context means that all sectors of society should be reflective of the country's demographics.

Does that mean legislation ( as we have ) limiting a business as to who they choose to employ?

If so - f**k that.

Penny's comments were arguably hate speech.

That does not detract from the fact that she has the legal right to say it, and she should have the legal right to say it. Same goes for the **** white people tshirt, and the same would go for a **** black people tshirt. Messages which advocate killing other people for general characteristics such as skin colour, on the other hand, is a big no no.

I appreciate you post because you are constant. But i still think hate crime should be criminalised.

I have yet to see you condemn the "hate crime"s that occurred against whites, though.

So you are supporting someone who's policies you are not even aware of?

Land expropriation would be for ALL land, you will not be able own land but but lease it for 25yrs from the state.
Nationalisation of mines, financial institutions, ports, harbours, telkom etc and limit foreign ownership. http://effighters.org.za/policy/nationalisation-of-mines/
They will also have a salary cap so they will determine how much you can earn. http://effighters.org.za/policy/industrial-development-for-quality-jobs/

So essentially they want to own everything including you.

Sound like a recipe for disaster, adherents of communism will love it though.

This is a gem..

2. Once the state is in control and custodianship of all land, those who are currently using the land or intend using land in the immediate will apply for land-use licences, which should be granted only when there is a purpose for the land being applied for. Those applying for licences will be granted licences for a maximum of 25 years, renewable on the basis that the land is being used as planned. The state should, within this context, hold the right to withdraw the licence and reallocate the land for public purposes.

Can you imagine the corruption around something like this....

Beyond the corruption, would you invest in ANYTHING large if you only had a 25 year window, and it wasn't a guaranteed 25 years either.

Not a chance in hell, especially not if it's subject to the whim of Julius.

notafsck, you would have to be insane to go down that path.

Precisely..

I wouldn't even THINK of buying even the most basic of residential property....

Which then will make the "government" the landlord, and do they have the capability to even begin to do something like that (let alone all the other issues in terms of cost/value/maintenance etc etc etc...

Why should "violence" be the only metric that is used to decide on the seriousness?

With all due respect it would be wise to find out the details before you convert! Please tell me I am fascinated why the EFF and not the DA? Is it fear of regression driving this decision or do you genuinely think the EFF is the best thing for SA particularly the underprivileged?
