Ultimately then your fear is race-based and irrational. Not all white people are the same, we're not all to blame for Apartheid. We didn't all support Apartheid. Heck I was still learning to add when Apartheid ended. I doubt I could even have written the word if asked, let alone understood what it was.

I for example don't distrust black leadership. I just want a president that will do his job effectively. I don't care what colour he/she is. That is largely irrelevant to whether or not he/she can do the job.

If you irrationally fear giving white people control of anything because you think they'll abuse you and hurt you then frankly that sounds racist.

It is not fear, but mistrust. I have heard few experiences with whites people that suggested that some are still entrenched I their old ways and do not see a black person as an equal.

So then you are therefore painting all white people with the generalisation brush based on a few experiences with old racists.... and you can't see that that is MASSIVELY racist on your part?

+1, I just want a president with integrity and intelligence. If Thuli Madonsela was the ANC presedential candidate I would probably vote ANC.

If I were white I probably would. Black people never caused as much harm to the white community as white people did. So the dynamics are different. No one can vote their former oppressors back to power.

No I don't. I wouldn't be were I a, today if it went for contributions from whites people. You question is absurd.

But you mistrust white people, who have a very good track record of running "government" spheres in CPT and the Western Cape, and would rather vote for a party that openly espouses the complete and utter destruction of our already fragile economy...

You are aware that your former oppressors are the ANC hey, and you openly admit that you voted for them.

The NNP merged with the ANC.

I'm guessing you are choosing to ignore the history of the political parties, and just spout that kind of nonsense to suit your "point of view"

DA at its core is white. Memories of what happened the last time white people were in power are still fresh in my mind.

In other words:
"I am not racist, I just don't trust white people"

Maybe trust is too strong a word but after centuries of living under white rule in which we where disposed of everything and discriminated against can you blame me.

I will admit that they are on the right track. But then you get someone like DKB and you get the sense that DA at its core is still a white party. When Mmusi talks the right talk with regards to issues that affect black primarily such as racism and BEE there are rumblings from within the party. So...

So its clear then the DA needs more diversity in the top tier of the organisation before they gain the majority vote the problem is where are they going to find these leaders if they feel the same way you do?

I find the DA inclusive in their agenda and are addressing issues that affect all races like education, unemployment and have been impressed by the way they discipline racists in their party. I realize that its much easier to move on when you aren't the affected party but hope with time you will be able to see the positive. I am personally a bit scared of the EFF simply because Malema is a loose Canon which won't be good for foreign investment and our economy. I am impressed at how he has taken on the current powers that be but wonder if he actually cares or if it's for polical gain.

Do you think anyone in the DA executive has that type of thinking?

Would you like me to paint all black people with a generalisation based on the various criminal encounters I have had with black people? You know the type in having a gun pointed at my face.

I find your post ridiculous. I am not an island, my existence and perfection in life is informed by those who came before me. I don't have to be 100 years old to know that Apartheid was wrong.

Sure that is a tad unfair. Agreed.
