This forum is finally coming into its own. The false veil of niceness is getting out of the way now. Maybe we can start to talk truth.
You keep implying that you know the truth and when pushed for answers accuse white people of racism. As if we're all the same, lol, which you previously said you don't care about considering. You're happy to accuse all white people of the same things irrespective of reality and judge white people on skin colour. You're OK with that, as you previously admitted.

Now there are some class A racist morons on this forum. Fortunately they're in the minority, which accurately represents my experience in every day life as well. Unfortunately you're on the other side of that coin, in the minority, seething with unbridled hatred based on skin colour alone towards white people. You're part of the problem unfortunately as long as you allow melanin count to shape your opinions and catalyse your anger. Ironically, the very thing I've always been lead to believe we're fighting for and what my family fought for. If you're happy to allow skin colour to be the basis of your determination, your ideal is not what anyone fought for, and it's rather sad that you're OK to send the country to the racist aggression once again simply to reserve it for people of particular melanin counts only. It is the logic of a kid. Rather watch the world burn than share and forgive. You really shouldn't be implying that others are removing their "veils of niceness". Respect is earned, and I imagine others here have no reason to respect you and your opinion. You're not owed any niceness when by your admission the content of one's post is less important than the assumed skin colour of the poster. Equally it's quite clear based on your responses so far in this thread that you sarcastically dismiss as a lie, any statement by people you assume are white, where they explain their non-racial / non-racist perspectives. You're not here to engage maturely nor get to know your fellow South African. You're just here to make assumptions about the skin colour of people posting and to reinforce your own racist and hate-filled opinions irrespective of what anyone says during their engagements with you.

I'm fortunately rational enough to realise that you racists simply shout the loudest and most often, which largely inflates the perception of your numbers. You end up arguing and shouting with the loud, racist twats of the other races who adopt an equally scorched earth approach and who you use to reinforce your opinions. Talk about a self fulfilling prophecy! Social media is just teeming with this nonsense, while the more rational populous watches on the outskirts, hoping that this hatred isn't unnecessarily indoctrinated into the next generation. We'll continue our lives with a common rainbow nation goal long after you're finished wasting yours on getting angry with racist, inbred, retarded, uneducated, people of any race you can fight with.

Also don't fool yourself that this is retribution or that your irrational racism is just and deserved. You have a choice (it's what was fought for) and you're choosing the scorched earth approach. It's a conscious decision you're choosing to make. You can convince yourself to your heart's content that it's "right" but the rest of us who'll be here to pick up the pieces when you're done with your destruction (physical, political, or financial) see the bigger picture and want to have the chance to instill better values in our youth, to ensure a non-racial and prosperous future for ALL South Africans. You're a hindrance to that, so don't expect your opinions and self-serving hatred to be treated with respect. And don't insult people's intelligence by implying that the lack of respect correctly directed towards your opinion is in any way a race-based decision. Your opinion deserves the derision it receives. Each time we treat such racism with false respect for whatever reasons, we do ourselves no favours. All we do is you a favour, and you're not deserving of that.

Our energies should be focused on the right policies, people, parties, and areas, and we should be teaching our youth the ability to discern the difference between the hatred and destructive loudmouths, from the positive and rational nation builders. As it stands too much time and effort is afforded to racist morons for the sake of headlines and controversy, and we all need to learn to identify the difference before we start trying to teach others. That involves ignoring the likes of you, or when engaging, realising that no rationale will change an irrational opinion, and simply applying the aforementioned derision to the opinion.

So in summary, get used to there being a distinct lack of respect applied to your racist drivel,at least from people who can see through facade. Until such time as you can post something worthy of respect, stop trying to emotionally blackmail people into simply giving it to you. It's high time that we stop affording Malema-esque hatred to take the limelight...

Expecting a 'you're a racist' response.

The post is in all likelihood a last ditch futile effort to explain what I believe is the consensus. If it ends up being futile, the beauty is it makes it even easier to not care about the response. We should only care about the opinions of people we respect, or those who can rationally challenge us, rather than those who try to shout the loudest to remain relevant. There's often next to nothing to be learned from those interactions other than patience. Over the last couple of months I've discovered that so many people spend so much time and energy giving a schit about opinions expressed by people who they don't give a schit about or whose opinions they don't respect.

If you feel compelled to torture yourself in that manner, save it up and watch parliament every now and then. It's a condensed version of the same thing...

I've honestly given up hope. The idiots seem to shout the loudest and get the most media attention & people just lap it up. Those two stellenbosch girls for example that attended an alien/space party are fscked for life I reckon. All you have to do these days is scream 'racism' where there is none and you get all the attention. There will always be racists in society, you cannot stop it by enacting laws to jail them, it has to come from social unacceptance, jailing someone won't change their underlying racism, if you believe otherwise you're an idiot (not aimed at you, just a general opinion).

The thing about those vocal opinions is that they carry weight amongst the ignorant and considered as truths. Me and you might look at it, analyse it rationally and come to the conclusion that it's all BS but I'm afraid the vast majority don't see it that way.

People like ngwe23 are not isolated cases, there are millions out there that believe in the same communist 'economic' principals. The state owns everything including you and everything is gonna come up roses for you. There is a real lack of understanding & vision.

Education is the key for our future, the black middle class is now bigger than the white middle class & they also realise how bad these policies are as whatever they've worked for so hard will be taken away from them as well. Those with hatred & vengeance as their goal are the biggest losers but they will affect people of all shades, thing is they don't care.

Don't allow morons to drown an informed opinion you feel is worth expressing. In fact the louder they shout, the more of an imperative you have to speak up, and the more imperative you have to ensure that you're proffering an informed and valuable insight or comment.

The colour of one's skin doesn't have any bearing on the weight and value of one's argument. The "shout loud because our irrational opinions don't hold water" crowd shouldn't be left unchallenged in the public domain. We don't need to enter into lengthy public debate, we simply need to ensure that their ridiculous opinions don't go unchallenged. Not challenging them is how we land up with Malemas, Verwoeds, and Zumas in positions of power. This applies to the irrational crap spewed by both sides of the spectrum. They may be some of the most vocal (because it's all they have) but that doesn't mean they're the only intended audience.

People grow tired of being shouted at and a stronger argument carries more weight in the long run than the morons shouting hate into people's ears. The morons make the mistake of assuming everyone is as stupid and easily duped as they are. Current politics is won by creating an absurd us vs them ideology. There's only so many times you can lie to others to convince them of an artificial enemy based on irrational arguments while failing on delivery and breaking fundamental promises, before the tide turns.

Social media affords everyone the opportunity to be exposed to the sheer stupidity of racists, and that's terrific, on condition that a more rational counter argument is always presented. It also allows voters to be exposed to the exact type of moron they DON'T want representing them in future, and unfortunately for Malema and Co the social media racists almost mirror the traits that he carries his campaigns on.

There are 53 million people in this country, and I believe that the vast majority are frustrated with the current status quo, and are capable and willing to make more rational, and informed decisions than ever. Those capable of making such rational arguments have traditionally allowed the morons to overbear them, and have forgotten to take responsibility for their own futures. An example here is the sheer laziness of white people for example, who convince themselves (often stupidly) that there's only the DA who can closely represent them and quite simply leave it in their hands, irrespective of the fact that the DA is actually not the bastion of hope and virtue. Then there's the rational majority who lazily leave it to everyone else and forget to take some personal responsibility for their future. Then bitch afterwards about the state of affairs. Then we have those who are so passionate that they engage the morons and only serve to argue every single day and often expose their underlying frustrations, or as is often the case, allow their pent up racism to bubble over.

My absolute favourite group of unwitting morons are the majority of white people. I have grown tired of hearing about how there are only 4.5 million white people and therefore any engagement is an exercise in futility due to being out voted. Sorry but fsck that. You and I may be white, but don't assume we have ANYTHING in common, especially when it comes to who I vote for. And how racist are you for excluding all other races in your little ideology? As if you have some sort of exclusive racial right to an educated high ground conclusion? It's this arrogant mindset, and political laziness that hurts us the most IMO. White people refuse to acknowledge flaws because most of the time it involves having to accept that one is occasionally a little racist, and nobody wants to admit that publicly nor to oneself. But I see it and hear it all of the time. This is why the distrust persists against white people. Nobody has truly grown up politically and socially in this country because nobody ever admits to being wrong. Everyone is supposedly perfect. Nonsense!

Here's how I see things: most white people I've heard want to convince black people to better understand the DA's policies in an effort to convince them that the DA is not a racist party. Those same white people have never actually read an ANC policy document in their life yet adopt this hypocritical and frankly condescending attitude towards everyone else about the DA, and also happen to not know a thing about any DA policy documents other than the soundbites they hear between the DA's frequent ANC beratement sessions.

Most non whites don't give a flying monkeys arsehole about policy documents. They want to know how they're specifically going to benefit after casting their vote, mostly because they desperately need to know that more than they need to know what the inflation target for 2016/2017 financial year is.

The problem primarily is that voting, whether we choose to accept it as truth or not, still happens along racial lines, and is based on flimsy, false, and quite immature rationale with very little involvement in actual politics other than by those who are forced by circumstances to do so. And until people allow themselves the chance to admit fault and grow up a bit, nothing will drastically change. If you want the country as a whole to stop voting on racial lines (which is an absurd way to vote) you have to be able to actually walk the walk yourself. Most aren't yet, but are more than happy to tell others to do so, and believe that their brief bitch and moan sessions with their maids and gardeners about JZ and Nkandla constitute social involvement and convince themselves that a sample size of 2 is sufficient with which to draw conclusions about an entire group of races and their intimate intentions. It's so incredibly cringe worthy reading/hearing people say "well I spoke to my maid and she says JZ must pay back the money and she's not voting ANC, so they are going to struggle come the next elections if they don't sort this out". Really???!! Are you that naive? Is that all you need to convince yourself? Does it feel better hearing that? Unfortunately that's not how it works.

Hopefully the more we are able to accept that our votes are valuable; that our vote comes with an onus to do some work about understanding all parties' policies; and that we have a further responsibility to maturely engage continually with people from all walks of life to better understand the idiosyncrasies of the country rather than our pigeon-hole suburb lifestyle, that we'll all grow up and start voting with our heads rather than our hearts.

The economy faces tough times. We all face tough times. Don't allow another Jacob Zuma to cock it up again. Take some personal responsibility for your own future...

It's this that makes me think a Zim style of government could still be possible in SA, supposedly intelligent and educated people who still believe in these ideals and are rabidly bringing race and a hatred to all whites into every thing they say and do.

It's far too easy, and in my experience incorrect, to assume that a lack of education = ignorant and easily manipulated. It's also incorrect to assume that outside of major cities, the majority of the voting public believe the claptrap politicians try to sell them. While education is important, nobody comes out of school with a decent macro economic, socio economic, and political education to the extent that I find people who make that argument, want to believe.

Political savvy comes from home. Socio-economic savvy comes from circumstance. Economic education comes from tertiary studies and being actively involved in the economy. People in rural areas exist in a microcosm of political power. They're actively involved in my experience more than your typical Sandton working DA voter in politics, and know more about it than people give them credit for. Socio-economic savvy is isolated to their needs, and is acute, known, and they are experts in it. Far more than you and I, at least in their existence. Economic policy they don't care for, as they typically don't derive short term benefit from changes there (in their mind). So I disagree that they're ignorant in any manner that matters to THEM. They may not be voting for your betterment, but if we're honest we mostly all cast our votes for selfish purposes rather than altruistic ones. We convince ourselves and others that we're being altruistic, but really I find your primary concern and rationale to be selfish, and as previously explained, often quite immature and steeped in racial bias. So really, who is the ignorant one here? You may be voting for the best party for your circumstances, but that doesn't mean the rural vote don't believe they're doing the same, and it also doesn't mean that your process of selection of a preferred party was a rational one and theirs wasn't.

It's all too easy to rationalise complex politics into neat little soundbites that fit our preconceptions. I used to do precisely that. It's a different thing altogether to invest in knowing more to better inform your opinion, or change it entirely, by getting to know the people, cultures, and circumstances of those we claim to have the solutions for. Often reality can surprise us...
