Started "Run As Admin" in Windows 7 - Drag did not work
Restarted normal - Drag & rename worked - pretty cool. Now I have to check if I can drag folders?

Edit: and folder drag worked too, Yeah!

OK, YW... so we must turn off the admin control... and run it as normal?

Yeah folder drag&drop is great.

It renamed almost 500 files in about 5 minutes.

Gary, I did nothing other than "double click" - did not fiddle with any UAC settings

So you ran it as admin first time then closed it and opened again as normal? Hmmm ... I shall give this a try.

I didn't do anything other than open it and drop my SERIES folder into the window.

Must add. UAC is switched off on my laptop.

does anyone know of a similar program for movies, in which it downloads a little description of the movie into the same folder [such as the imdb.com description] and maybe the rating

I thought this program already has that feature.... but check out XBMC (Media Center Software)... it connects to the internet and adds that info to your media list.

Does XMBC store the info in the folder or in it's own DB? I use mediaportal (similar to XBMC) since it has a nicer interface than XMBC, but it might be worth using XBMC just to grab episode info and series banners if they go directly to the folder.

So it uses it's own DBs then. Pity.

worked on average for me. tested on few files first - worked 100%
Dragged my series folder +/-1000 files, 90% worked...only few episodes of LOST was renamed to Dexter

The guys who want their ID3 tags filled, i use winamp. Right click on the song -> Send to -> Autotag. Downloads track info and applies it. There is also a batch option for you.

Well, im sure such a program exists - you should find it with some googeling.

however If you can't find such a program and you REALLY need this, I could perhaps code it for you for a small fee.

However, like I said - I'll bet such a program exists though - just google around.. maybe google something like "filename to ID3"

You can give Musicbrainz Picard a try, http://musicbrainz.org/. Basically creates a digital fingerprint of the music file and then compares it to the online database. Not to greate for local music, but some of the music does get matched from Steve Hoffmeyer right thru to The Parlotones. Good Luck

Ja.. that page is where I found this software. I would love to be able to do all of that. But I don't have a strong enough media pc yet.

therenamer.exe seems to have been broken by Win10 1803.
Not even starting up.

Filebot is available in $'s, but I have no experience on it's GUI.

Therenamer's drag&drop worked perfect.

Found http://tvrenamer.org/ which kinda works ok for now.

Any suggestions?
