If there is a direct threat of attack which they likely suspect is the case. We are not being told anything. I suspect a coup attempt or terror attack.
Yeah I heard Ramaphosa's spokesperson say he won't say the reason but the deployment implies there's a presumably credible threat. There was apparently an armed robbery at one of the power stations some weeks back.

If the reason is a planned physical threat then they should be deployed ( quite credible bearing in mind the amount of ammunition stolen in Zuma riots which has never been found and amount of illegal arms in SA)

If its other like check coal quality, prevent vandalism etc then it's meaningless

I'm guessing the results then will only be announced tommorrow night sometime? Gosh, this conference is so heavily behind schedule...
I don't know what they would be doing all along to announce result tomorrow night, unless they adjourn again, I which case voting should be the first thing in the morning and results should be known by noon.

Not entirely sure what the military is to be used for at Eskom, unless they under threat of physical attack. It's an ANC thing to put @arse before face, e.g during lockdown is when the military should have been used to guard infrastructure like railway stations which have been vandalized and stripped bare, instead they were used to chase people off beaches, shout at people not wearing masks and even assault them.
You forgot "and kill them in their own backyards".

What’s with these random nominations? Someone who is not even in the country was nominated.

“ANC delegates have moved to the stage. Some are furious and want to nominate more candidates for the position of first and second deputy secretary general. Most of them are from the Northern Cape”.

How embarrassing and bush-league is this?

So Mabuza and NDZ couldn't crack a nomination from the floor. Also the ones suspended are remaining suspended? Curious lack of promised fireworks here and what did the integrity commission say about the presidential front runners and their skeletons?
