Because the ANC is by some distance that most powerful political party and having other parties as allies makes it harder for actual opposition parties to dismiss the ANC from government
Just because you are opposition parties doesn't mean you share the same vision though, and it certainly does not mean you have to unite behind the DA.

It's possible that the PA could be opposed to the ANC in some way and also opposed to the DA, in that instance it may simply be looking for ways to further their goals and would align with the ANC if there is benefit to them, and they got the mayorship in this instance.

Why can't they meet each other in the middle and do everything at once? Close the border, fix home affairs and the legislation?

Why can't the ANC meet us in the middle and pretend they're running the country for a change?

We know it might be a monumental task for such a bunch of moronic domkoppe so we might even make it easier for them, and introduce, let's call it governshedding, where they may choose either to govern sections of the country on a rotational basis, like today the freestate, tomorrow the eastern cape, but never ever the western cape mind you, or all of the country on a rotating schedule ie. some of the time.

That way, even thought leadership might be so severely lacking that we can almost state that we're running on auto without any government at all, at least some of the areas might experience some governship some of the time.

If all else fails, as we all know it will, track record baba track record, can't the ANC just either steal some of taxpayer money some of the time too, like give everyone else a chance too, why must you be so awful at governing and at the same time so deft at stealing and everything else unholy like the corruption you're known for?

Just be equally sleg at stealing as you are at everything else, but no.. Ironically it are what it are. Such is da wei..

Nah, you don't deserve being met in the middle, it's time to do the long haul.

I'm not going to jump the gun on this but it sounds clear to me as if the audio was spliced around 0:36. You can't clearly discern what she's trying to say?

All I get is she's disappointed and frustrated and the Thandeka antie is black and voted in by Indians? Perhaps someone else spots something else or more to this?
Has the Indian lady or the DA bothered to respond? Thandeka must really be good.

Oh yaaawwwnnn, and a vote for ActionSA, IFP and Freedom Front is a vote for the DA? It's really starting to get boring, every time things don't go the DA's way you hear this nonsense.
As we go into coalitions, you'd essentially have to pick a side.

Either an ANC coalition or a DA coalition.

Haven't seen anything from anyone else.

Only Actioners.

Especially the Liar of KZN:

Before you ask why I call him that, remember when he left the DA and he completely dismissed joining ASA (even tho DA immediately called it), yet he showed up as ASA KZN leader a short while later?

We'll probably see ASA/DA firefights heat up again in the run-up to 2024...

Exactly, and the PA has just done that, and they have bagged themselves the mayoral position in the process.

Funny how a vote for the PA wasn't a vote for the ANC when the PA was in a coalition with the DA, coming up with that line when things don't go your way is really getting old, we need more creativity.

And made themselves complicit in the ANC's destruction and looting. Do you honestly think things will change in Ditso now, that PA'll hold ANC accountable?

That was before they made themselves complicit in the ANC's destruction and looting.

All the UF coalition partners are now complicit in the looting that happened in Tshwane that resulted in the adverse AG opinion, is that corruption different because it's not done by the ANC? What moral high ground do they have on the PA?

I don't know if things will get better, why don't we give the PA a chance the same way we give everybody a chance?

I waited for that. And yet they're taking action to resolve it, aren't they?

Read the article.

If this was ANC we'd have had 19 task teams, 15 sub-committees and a lot of speeches, while nothing changes.
What moral high ground do they have on the PA?
The fact you even ask this question, is just, wow...

If you say so.

Exactly, give the PA a chance to fix things the same way you give the UF a chance, not fair?

Lovely, Gayton is brave unlike Mashaba who keeps on throwing meaningless tantrums, but it helps if you haven't eaten the Oppenheimer's money, you are able to tell the DA to get lost without fear.

Some polling...although the DA is doing a bit better compared to the embarrassment of 2019, the ANC is still far too high...

ANC: 47.6
DA: 24.0
EFF: 10.7
IFP: 4.1
Action SA: 4.0
FF: 1.7
That's 4%+ since 2019 at least. The way I see it, if they're at least consistently polling above 20% (especially 22%), it's a good sign in comparison to what was polled in the run-up to 2019.

But I think IFP, ASA and VF+ are polled a tad low IMO.

My thinking:
IFP: 5% - 5.5%
ASA: 4.5 - 5%
VF+: 3%
