Brief reading of some threads tells me that there are hardly any ANC/EFF supporters here so I don't get the angry discourse of political threads. Seems echo chamber to me so far.

There are elements of echo chamber at play, without a doubt.. but that would largely be a socio-economic thing more than anything else in my opinion.

Also many of us disagree on many things, but agree on others, so if political discourse is not your thing, there is robust discussion on many other topics.

I see more agreement than disagreement and it makes sense if there are hardly any other party supporters. Disagreements seem to be whether one likes potato fried or mashed. Just my 2 cents.

At a political level, you would probably see more agreement on a forum of this nature than disagreement... I would hazard a guess that the vast majority of members on this forum are relatively liberal, but are also educated enough to see what the root cause of our issues in this country are.

Excuse if this is a dumb question, but is it not possible for Cyril to declare a state of emergency like when COVID hit, and form a task team of some highly qualified individuals, mobilise the army and train them for a few weeks with regards to fixing power equipment, and then combined with all the efforts, try and fix the grid?

Im genuinely interested if something like this is possible and feasible?
I personally don’t understand why he doesn’t make fixing Eskom his highest priority/administration plan for his own political status? Surely it makes most sense to appeal to more South Africans and gain support? Kind of a dumb political move not to.

You have a particularly high regard of the technical abilities of our soldier boys. I don't share your confidence in them.

I think it’s more of the fact that they would have to do it? I don’t see where else all the labour could come from unless we got individuals from overseas that are already trained.

He can. It's what the DA has literally been saying, that Cyril should declare a ring-fenced state of disaster around Eskom.

But as @ToxicBunny said, he won't.
