No it's not about shifting strategy...you can do that (that's actually long term) while at the same time not abandoning the day to day responsibilities. You can't leave stations in a state of breakdown and wait 5 or 10 years for the new strategy to be operational .

But that's exactly what the ANC did..

I posted this in another thread but it probably belongs more here :

The ANC must acknowledge that they are directly responsible for the current state of the country in its entirety due to the manner in which they chose and appointed the deployees to all of the SOE and Government posts.
They are also directly responsible for aiding and abetting the rampant corruption in all departments and SOE’s
Then they must also acknowledge that they are responsible for completely screwing up their own supporters in the none to middle income group in order to completely favour those they have been aiding and abetting in corruption in all walks of life.

I see all ANC supporters as supporting the above.

Eskom did not screw up the ANC for the elections, they did it to themselves. I do laugh at all these breakaway parties. But they all seem to rush back and support the ANC as soon as KFC is on the menu. Talk about screwing those who supported you. Yes they may be lower in elections, but as soon as the backhanders become active , then the ANC coalition will win again. Their is no hope in this country untill the none to middle income group that supports the ANC gets p... klapped in their wallet. I see this 18% and next years minimum 12% increase as being the start for this. Maybe there needs to eb a lot more pain in the supporters pockets before things can get better.
There is a reason unemployment is at the highs it is now. This is purely due to policies and the subsequent events that the ANC has driven via their deployed cadre. The crime is a byproduct of the unemployment.

As far as the DA ruling teh country, my personal feeling is that they must only do it when they have a majority otherwise as a coalition the coalition will just be screwing them. But I guess someone wanting to say he was "president" will screw that thinking. Had the same thoughts when teh DA took over some major municipalities by coalition.

Right now I do not see any party as the ideal party, but more or having to chose the best of what is available.

Fixing breakdowns in stations is a regular and ongoing responsibility of Eskom, not a long term "strategy".

Do you know that ALL infrastructure is built with a design life? So you have to have a plan to replace them when they reach the end of their useful (safe) life. So now tell me how many of the power stations still in operation (or more aptly trying to) should have been decommissioned already?

This is where long term strategy planning comes in. The ANC is not capable of this at all. Proof is out there to see. Crumbling water infrastructure is commonplace these days. Like with the electricity the ANC was warned in the late 90's about the water problem.

They just ignored it. So now that their complete incompetence is proudly on display for all to see they want to start shifting the blame. Clearly their are those in this country that are stupid enough to fall for their bs. Appears you are one of those.

They won't.

After the ANC loses the majority, no one can gain a majority. We've seen it in the metros. Coalitions are our future, accept it.

If a solid UF coalition can get in there in 2024, I assume it wouldn't be so hard as in the metros, where there are a lot of other small players who can spoil the coalition like PA, etc.
