Yup. But I'm not positive about that.

If EFF abstains again, then the UF would need 121 seats to hold JHB. DA and ASA make-up 115. Add IFP, VF+ and ACDP and they can hold.

Meaning the UF only have TSH and Mogale City left. With TSH being the stronghold.

I mean in a perfect world where only numbers mattered a DA/ASA/EFF coalition would govern (144 seats)...

So if the UF wants to make a comeback, they'll have to work out some kind of deal with EFF, although not formally coalescing with them. Since the non-UF smaller parties probably won't support them (which includes PA).

They're going to vote for a new mayor shortly. Probably Masina.
EFF will probably abstain again, with ANC/PA/other smallernyana parties bringing back the ANC.
