So the big question is, since he know that most of that us not going to happen, why did he take the job?
Perhaps he thought like De Ruyter that he'd be given space and actually get help to fix things instead of having to tow ANC party line?

And since De Ruyter has been there for a while now he never learnt anything and he still has plans of doing the same thing De Ruyter failed on? Is he a 30%er or something?

Seems like. Things won't change until the ANC is thrown out. They can perpetually swap Eskom board members and CEOs and whatever, but for as long as the ANC is in power, nothing will change in Eskom.

Since Gwede and others will still be calling the shots.

Never mind, after reading that article it looks like the DA has done what it does best, to twist the words of the guy to satisfy their own agenda.

The dude did mention that localisation and procurement policies aren't working?

And BEE, localisation and procurement policies usually go hand in hand?

Perhaps, everyone should have refused the job until the real problems are sorted out, namely ideology and politics in a critical infrastructure sector that has no room for stupid mistakes, if mistakes are made, there is a very very very very little room/latitude to hide the incompetence, physics doesn't give a **** about politics.

ANC will learn the hard way how a country works, and that is with electricity.

It will actually we a very good experiment as this has never happened in the world before.

Never mind the CSA has labelled Eskom as the biggest Ponzi scheme in the history of the world.

This is africa. Parties are never thrown out. In africa, the only way is through a coup.

If ANC win in '24, will you join the "lets coup these mofos" whatsapp group?

Can we just agree as a country to stop being so pedantic on what is what and just focus on 10% GDP growth?
I think he is actually making good points which are overshadowed by the spin put on by the DA, I also see MyBb is in on it.

For an example he is saying there is absolutely no need for a local company to be a middleman if a foreign company is a supplier to Eskom, removing that does not mean scrapping BEE, it is removing an unnecessary hurdle to Eskom operating efficiently.

I was weak and fell for McPherson's click bait. It's not fair to misquote someone like that to further your agenda, if he was indeed saying BEE must go it would be fair to ask why he is there if he knows Eskom is an SOE that will apply the laws of government.
