This was a heartbreaking listen (link to audio in article). This problem is another of the ANC's creation - they could stop this almost instantly if they committed to fighting corruption as a party. Tenderpreuners have become so used to getting tenders that they'll intimidate and kill anyone who threatens their tender pipelines. She was obviously kidnapped as a warning.
Stop instantly? Corruption is pandemic and it has become lifestyle & aspiration of many in ANC. At best, we can hope for prosecutions & jail sentences some day. It can become more realistic if ANC is dislodged from power of course but I don't see that happening in 2024.

I only knew about the first two links and the last one.

Was using the idiom btw.

Funnily enough, you could say the same about the ANC... (and no I'm not excusing the IFP's actions during the 80s and early 90s)
Yes, you could say the same thing, which goes back to what I said that there is very little difference to how they do things compared to the ANC. The whole point was not to make the ANC look good at the expense of the IFP, it is just to give someone like @Priapus some perspective about the IFP.

As far as corruption, violence and everything the DA might say about the ANC, the IFP is exactly the same thing, they are just working with a smaller budget, the only reason the DA are drawn to them is because they are the only party that has a chance at unseating the ANC in KZN, while not being a threat to the DA nationally.

The tenderpreneurs are operating like a gov-funded mafia at this point.

And I agree with you.
“Begone, foul dwimmerlaik, lord of carrion! Leave the tenders in peace!"
A cold voice answered: 'Come not between the tenderpreneur and his juicy, preciouses tenders! Or he will not slay thee in thy turn. He will bear thee away to the houses of lamentation, beyond all darkness, where thy flesh shall be devoured, and thy shrivelled mind be left naked to the Lidless Eye."

“There is no merit in the case against the region. The only reason the court ruled against us is that we were not in court to defend ourselves when the ruling was made.

“When the summons was delivered to our offices there was no one present. Now that the ANC will be in court to defend itself tomorrow (Wednesday) there is no doubt that the court’s decision would be rescinded,” he said.

Let's see how right they are about that then, tomorrow.

But I don't recall the contest being close, so there is a good reason to argue that removing the number of disputed delegates would not change anything as far a the provincial election was concerned.

How arrogant. That's not how it works.

We'll have to see what happens, if they'll make another mockery out of our legal system or not.

Stopped food catering? Good job but I would have gone a lot further, stop it and create a cafeteria, then sell the food at inflated prices to the fat cats, they won't be able to go for a day without food so the municipality get something back from their salaries.

Weren't the pro DA thinkers and commentators predicting the end of Action SA a few weeks ago?

He is on MyBb? Because that's exactly what one of the supporters said here.

In the wake of this announcement I could not help but notice various DA leaders criticising ActionSA for launching in the Western Cape. Their message was that ActionSA must not try and win DA support in the Western Cape and, rather, should stick to the other eight provinces.

Ahhh but that opens up new avenues for corruption.

Sell a plate of hot food to the fat cats for R50, but the municipality ends up having to pay R750 to hire the plate for the lunch period. :p

To be vaguely serious about this "catering" thing... it should be stopped entirely at all government entities, even parliament.
