Just came back from Durban and as always it's pretty clean all-round, as I've always said it's paradise. I'm loving the mega projects there and how they coming along.....

The infrastructure needs some work, but the DA will get it right. Natalians are helping in keeping the city clean and working and the municipality is failing on major points which is in contrast to Tshwane where Pretorians litter and destroy the city and the municipality tries it's best to fix things.

I wouldn't call it progress, it's always been well maintained, clean and safe.

You really shouldn't do so many drugs, it warps your view on reality.

Durban is hardly clean all-round, its a fscking cesspit and getting worse.
As for the "mega-projects" and how they're coming along? You mean the freeways that have absolutely fscked transport in the city? Yes they need to be done, but some ****** Project Manager lead needs a swift kick in the rear end for doing the N3 and N2 at the same damn time.

And no, "Natalians" aren't helping in keeping the city clean, the vast majority are just making the problem worse.

The name "Dirtbin" is stuck in my head to the day because my grandparents, who lived in Natal, called it that.

Last time I went there the smell of open sewage from the yacht club to the beach is a memory I will not soon forget.

You should come back, we now have different aromas of raw sewerage in different parts of the city, can even make a bit of a tour around it and teach people how to identify the area based off the varying sewerage smells.

I have only been an occasional tourist and surprisingly missed such parts of the city in each visit. I mean nothing as drastic that I wouldn't have already seen in jozi cbd etc.

Beaches had all kinds of debris one time but we went just after the floods.

The CBD is a bit of a shyteshow, but a tourist would avoid the vast majority of those places, and eSchitweni is relatively good at putting lipstick on a pig for short periods of time.

Makes sense. Last time around, I only went to Patel's and didn't see anything different situation than JHB CBD.

Having said that I really wish I could get curries from Patel's in Jozi. It is not outstanding taste but it has a distinct taste not available in Jozi afaik.

You need to make a mission to Goundens the next time you're around... lekker Bunny chow and curry to go with it.
