Privitisation is only realistic way that the SAPO has going forward.
That's true. Privatizing and restructuring is the only way out...

Naturally, die-hard socialists will not understand this...

But it needs to be proper privatisation, where the private entity has full control of the entity and there is zero government/political interference.

The government could hold a significant stake (say 40%) but the private entity must have a bigger stake and control

It seems like the Indians aren't happy with GNU.

Also, as you can see, all groups have a resoundingly positive sentiment about the DA's performance in the GNU. That's why I said long ago that the DA has a lot to gain from this GNU.

A 51/49 split either way, will already help a lot with SAPO...

I don't think anything else than that should happen.

Needs to be at least 51% private, 49% public with the majority of board seats being issued to the private side.

If the government has any sort of control at any level other than legislative, then just shut the entity down it will continue to fail.

EFF and MK support went back to the ANC. ASA, Rise and Bosa support went back to the DA. So nothing much changed...

GNU should distribute bunny chows to make them happy. KFC is not gonna work.

So I'm in 2 minds about this ruling..

Do we need to convict more rapists, without a doubt...
But I worry that we'll set the bar too high for what constitutes "consent" that it will open the door to things like people getting regret and claiming rape after the fact, even though they consented at the time.

There seems to be an alternate preferred model for the ANC: The SAA-double-pinky-promise model.

Part 1: "We're gonna privatise, pinky-promise, we just need to refloat it and then we'll sell it, so don't mind this eleventy-billion rands we're pouring down its throat. Thats just to square it up!"

Part 2: Followed of course by "nah fam.... we're gonna keep it and keep doing the same things thanks, but this time it will be different. Pinky-promise!"

Ain't it funny how both these characters seem to be utterly useless and corrupt? Only difference is, the DA will actually get rid of him, whereas your beloved ANC and comrade-gangsta Bheki had a far more successful relationship, stretching many decades.... The Great Cadredeplomentification Movement leads the nation! (in its moer in)
It's actually some dodgy reporting from News24, (not surprising).

The guy in the pic might look very corrupt but he is actually not the one accused of a crime, just the person overseeing the department.

Do you recall 3 recent cases where such happened in SA ?

Can't say I keep a careful track of rape cases in SA, but I am aware of a few false claims of rape, and if we set the bar for consent too high those "false" claims could actually get prosecuted as rape potentially.

Will all depend on how high/low the bar for consent is set at.

When "that" happens, I am sure judicial system will take care of it. Rape is major issue in SA and not fringe cases of false rape accusations.

I don't deny it, but false rape accusations are also massively damaging to the people they're made against.

And I wouldn't hold my breath for the judicial system to take care of something, given that they've taken 17 years to find sections of the current act unconstitutional. It would be better all around if the "intent" test is valid from day 1, then actual rapists can get convicted and there are no questions.
