The SABC has confirmed that its website was hacked

They wanted to mess with people trying to force them to pay a streaming license and also cut their Netflix content.

“The SABC would like to appeal to the public not to leave their personal details on the website until this matter is resolved,” it said.
Any other company would have taken the websites offline or served up a page from a non-compromised server saying the sites are under construction, instead the SABC keeps its scam websites online to maximise the number of people that can be phished.

Smallllll minority of people that do pay their TV farcelicence
Yep. Can confirm. My mum whatsapped me yesterday to ask me to get the account details for her as she received an sms that her TV license is due for renewal. :notworthy:

Good thing that she didn't go to the website herself. She would have been phished.

Those retards wouldn't know a hacked website from a slice of polony.

I know a hacked website form a slice of polony and yet I pay my TV license.

Not that I want to, but I followed MyBB advice and told them to stick it about 2 years ago - ended up with my name at a collection agency and getting registered mail threatening legal action. Asked around and well, on mybb everyone is like - they can't **** ignore it - but it doesn't feel so good getting these calls and getting threatened. So I ended caving and the MyBB advise cost me R1500 due to fees and penalties.

So yeah, I pay it now, whilst it's still R265.

You didn't sign a credit agreement or acknowledgement of debt with them and they are not a registered credit provider. As far as I know you won't find one example on this forum of anyone ever being taken to court for not paying their TV licence.

Right so who's going to be the first to sue them in terms of the POPI act and what fines and penalties are the courts going to impose.................

Shame..Its more than likely someone trying to remove a deceased person from the SABC database after 7 years of trying unsuccessfully.......
